Best shoes I've bought in along time. Comfortable the first time I wore them and provided good cushioning for hiking trails in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. True, the trails were not back country trails, but they were sufficiently rocky, steep, and long enough to require sturdy footwear.
Despite the advice to order down a half size, I ordered my usual size, and the shoes fit correctly with light weight wool hiking socks. There is ample room in the toe box, but not too much, making for comfortable walking.
Good support and traction come from the treading, properly padded insole, correct but not excessive padding along the tongue, and proper lacing. These are excellent hiking shoes that I will likely wear around town, too, given that they are also not overly heavy - a nice balance.

This is my third pair of Keen low hikers. Keen hiking boots run small and this pair is no different. Buy hiking boots at least a 1/2 size longer than your regular size to protect your toenails (you know!). I usually wear 9 1/2 or 10 and bought this pair in size 11. I use orthotics and Keen hiking boots work well with orthotics. My first outing in these boots I was walking construction projects for 6 hours. These boots were comfortable from the get-go. That has been my experience with Keen?never a blister. I highly recommend Keen.

I bought these just before a vacation and put them on and they were perfect - very comfortable, well-fitting. The laces stayed tied and tight (something many shoes do not). Love the color and the chartreuse trim.

These boots fit & are wearable right out of the box. No break-in necessary. Very comfortable with a roomy toe box. Reasonable price, too.

I am not one to spend a lot of money on shoes till I had a back injury from a fall. After reading other reviews I decided to give these shoes a chance. After my accident I am unable to walk long distances or go up many stairs without being in excruciating pain. I wore these while chaperoning my son's 5th grade field trip to Universal Studios in Orlando and was able to walk ALL day as well as go up many steps on the rides. I was even able to stay standing while some of the kids stopped and sat down. I only had minimal discomfort towards the end of the day which was mainly muscle related. I am so thankful for these shoes. I have an upcoming vacation with my sons in Colorado and Arizona and I had planned on doing some hiking. I can now feel absolutely comfortable knowing that I will be able to enjoy my trip and be able to participate in all the activities I had planned. Thank you again for making such comfortable and supportive shoes.

I love Keen shoes and these were very nice. Unfortunately I read the recommendation that they ran a half size small and that I should order up a half size. I thought they were true to size and ended up returning because they were too big. I did keep in mind wearing thicker socks but I would have to wear thick socks during the summer and living in Texas....these would have been too hot.

been a long time wearer of Keens. i prefer these to the targhees and the gypsums. i typically wear 1/2 size larger in the targhees and the sandals but find these voyageurs fit me better in my normal size. will buy more when other colors available.
