Rated 5 out of 5 by Curlieq20 Perfect fit!
I originally had Merrill hiking boots, and decided to return them because after hiking or traveling down a slope my small toes would feel cramped and would often get hot (close to blistering), due to the narrowness of the boot. I had tried a size up of the Merrills, but they still were not cutting it. Bought these, and I'm so glad that I did! I normally wear a size 7 or 7 1/2, but ended up buying a 8 in these, and I have no regrets! These are also perfect for traveling around town! I love how they are wider in the front, so my little toes are free. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mamacanine great shoes with meaty tread!!
I had purchased a pair of these keens last year and just couldn't resist buying another pair this year! I wear a size 8 1/2 medium and I find them true to fit, as most have to go up a half size, I did not have this problem. they are very sturdy, comfortable, and add lots of balance when walking on uneven ground. with this added pair, I would say I am good for many summers to come!! I must also add that I wear these shoes from the time I rise til I retire and my feet have never complained!! these wear very well with a light to medium ankle sock. again, thanks LLbean for carrying another great shoe. I would highly recommend this shoe to any woman who is on her feet all day and has to walk on uneven terrain. they are pricey, but they are worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CarolCola Comfy hikers, flexible fit, hard wearing 5 star !
I have worn a competitor's hiker/walkers for at least ten years because they offered widths but decided to try Keens after I bought some Whisper sandals & loved them. What amazes me is that my daughter & I both find this shoe to be comfortable. She has narrow feet & I have feet that usually fit the box better than the shoe itself and yet... this shoe works for both of us. I think the key is a roomy toe box & a flexible lacing system. What amazes me is that although most of my hikers end up with broken down heel counters from trying to insert a foot with hiking socks into the shoe, this one has enough room to avoid squashing the heel. I would have bought another pair right now if LLB had not sold out my size. Definitely order up 1/2 size for the best fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brasseur So glad I found these!
I used to wear a Keen low hiker called the Targhee. I think I had 3 pairs of those that worked very well, but when the Targhee disappeared and was replaced by the Targhee II, I found the fit no longer worked for me. I have a Morton's neuroma in one foot and I must have enough width at the front of the shoe even though the rest of my foot is not wide and in fact, the heel is narrow. For 4 years I have been walking/hiking in Keen sandals because they were all I could find that fit. I discovered these at a local store, tried them at home and just came back from 2 weeks of adventure in Costa Rica and am THRILLED with the fit and comfort of these boots. I'm ordering another pair in the other color today before this style disappears.

Love my new Keens so comfortable. I do a lot of hiking in woods with moderate terrain. Bought 1/2 size up, great fit right away, plenty of width which I need. Plenty of toe room for up and down hill, my foot did not push forward in the shoe. I was caught for an hour in the woods in a downpour in muddy and wet fall leaves. Soles were not slippery. Although the shoes are not made to be waterproof, they dried quickly and still look great.

Comfortable. They felt a little stiff when I first got them, but I wore them without any break in time and they felt great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CountOnConsistency No breaking in necessary
Best shoes I've bought in along time. Comfortable the first time I wore them and provided good cushioning for hiking trails in Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon. True, the trails were not back country trails, but they were sufficiently rocky, steep, and long enough to require sturdy footwear.
Despite the advice to order down a half size, I ordered my usual size, and the shoes fit correctly with light weight wool hiking socks. There is ample room in the toe box, but not too much, making for comfortable walking.
Good support and traction come from the treading, properly padded insole, correct but not excessive padding along the tongue, and proper lacing. These are excellent hiking shoes that I will likely wear around town, too, given that they are also not overly heavy - a nice balance.

This is my third pair of Keen low hikers. Keen hiking boots run small and this pair is no different. Buy hiking boots at least a 1/2 size longer than your regular size to protect your toenails (you know!). I usually wear 9 1/2 or 10 and bought this pair in size 11. I use orthotics and Keen hiking boots work well with orthotics. My first outing in these boots I was walking construction projects for 6 hours. These boots were comfortable from the get-go. That has been my experience with Keen?never a blister. I highly recommend Keen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RAHatch Great walking shoes
I bought these just before a vacation and put them on and they were perfect - very comfortable, well-fitting. The laces stayed tied and tight (something many shoes do not). Love the color and the chartreuse trim.
