Rated 5 out of 5 by jbinhack Pathfinder Soft Shell Jacket
Purchased this jacket Janurary 2015 and very pleased with the high quality and workmanship from LL Bean. Have worn in different elements of weather such as snow, rain and sunny conditions and must say that it's the perfect jacket for running quick errands, being with friends or out at the park on a nice day! The adjustable wrist clips help keep out wind and you also have waist line straps on both sides that help this as well. I'm 6'2 and around 210lbs and wear a Large and it fits fine. The chest pocket also is a nice addition to put various items in when youre out and about - have receieved multiple comments about this product and look forward to keeping it in my wardrobe for years to come...thanks LL Bean!

Rated 1 out of 5 At a loss for words...
I was replacing 2 jackets from "Bean" that had sippers that would not zip. Otherwise the jackets were great!
I ordered this jacket specifically to layer with the Primaloft jacket, as I had done with my original jackets. Uh, no chance with the new ones...
They fit like cycling jerseys! I couldn't even get my arms in it without the oxford i had on riding up. Poor poor design...
I'm 6'5" & a former hockey player who stays in shape, but dang these are just way too tight in every aspect. Very disappointed!

Rated 2 out of 5 Change for the worse
I loved the last version of the pathfinder jacket but they've switched from a nylon material to a polyester jacket so it feels much less substantial. Hopefully these are onsale currently because they are killing off this model and going back to the old model.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tekton Tight Sleeve Trade offs
I'm 6'4" 185lbs with an athletic build and found the sleeves long enough but too tight. All the inside seams were not sewn smooth, as they are in my Wind Challenger Fleece Jacket. I found that it was very difficult to get on over a normal oxford shirt....not to mention with a thin wool sweater. However, I'm no fan of the "cheap" elastane cuffs my Wind Challenger Fleece Jacket..... and hoped this garment would be an improvement ..... Wrong!!!
So I returned it and await a product with the best features of each, rather than trade offs. Am I asking too much?

Rated 4 out of 5 by BeanJacketAddict Really liked it but couldn't find the right fit
I really liked the jacket but couldn't find a size that fit right, so I had to return it. I am 6'5", 210 lbs. Bean's XL-T jacket size usually fit well but the shoulders were way too small on this jacket. The sleeve length and body length were good for someone who wears a "37 sleeve shirt size. I also tried the XXL-T, but the body was way too big and wind would have blown up the waist, so that one went back too.
The interior of the jacket has a nice "waffle weave" fabric that seemed like it would be warm, and the exterior had a stretchy rubberized feel that clearly would have done a good job shedding water in a light rain.

Rated 2 out of 5 by theScotty Hard to get on
Most of the clothing I wear is size extra large, I bought this jacket in an extra large and it was way too small so I returned it for an extra extra large. The jacket fit but getting it on with a long sleeve shirt is a battle. The lining of the sleeves should have been smoother, not fleece that acts like velcro with a long sleeve shirt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MemphisMatt Nice Addition to the Lineup
I bought this onsale and got the Medium Tall (I am 6' 170lbs). Very pleased with the fit and the grey looks sharp. Not for cold weather unless you use an underliner, but nice for those temps when you need something more than just a shirt.

Rated 4 out of 5 by amaineiac Good Fall Jacket
I like the way it looks, very comfortable, breathable, and surprisingly warm considering how thin it is, but a few things keep me from giving it 5 stars.
The inside pockets are so deep it's a bit awkward reaching anything you put in there. The material inside the arms grabs your shirt sleeves as you put the jacket on and it takes a bit of wrestling to get comfortable again. Lastly, the velcro wrist straps snag when you pull your hands of of your pockets.
Overall, great jacket, just wish for a few minor changes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ExiledJedi Small annoyances
After a few weeks of using this newest version of the Pathfinder Soft-Shell, I find that I liked the old edition better.
This Pathfinder does have some improvements. The overall fit is not as loose in the chest, and the interior fleece grid provides better insulation than before.
Unfortunately, there are 2 small issues: first, the velcro cuff closures are not easy to use because the "hook" portion has no easy area to grip and pull. It ends up poking my fingers with the scratchy hooks. Even worse, the hook portion is glued onto some kind of rubber backing, which peeled off when I washed the jacket and now looks terrible. Second, the colors of the fabric are too bright. I don't want to be as bright as a neon sign.
This jacket could be a 5-star item if Bean changes the velcro cuffs to have the hook portion sewn onto a fabric backing that makes it durable and easy to pull. Toning down the colors would be nice as well.
The jacket is still good enough for me to use, but I won't buy more copies of this edition. Hopefully it will improve next year.
