Rated 3 out of 5 by Makowa versatile as I might say
I have 2 of these one in clear blue and then a bright navy, the linen is not scratchy as I have heard that linen can be. I ordered a medium and am glad that I did. they are a loose relaxed fit, which is probably what will be best for hotter days. although because they do have a looser relaxed fit, you might want to order the next size down. they will get slightly looser after wearing them the first and second time.
they are versatile because they are soft and would not be bad for layering.
now here is an interesting fact. if I ever were to take part in a renaissance reenactment then the white linen color would go good with the costume slacks of that time. it looks very traditional to such a time period and would not be noticeable.
to think that llbean could be designing costumes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mojoon Slightly fitted and why.
Because of the texture of the linen fiber, most linen shirts are usually tailored so they are "slightly fitted" or sometimes even more "tightly fitted" with some sellers. If this wasn't done, then the linen shirt often looks "boxy" because of the thicker linen fiber. Bean makes a nice comprise with their design of the shirt for those who can wear "slightly fitted". That's the good reason why Bean doesn't offer linen in "Traditional Fit". The wonderful aspect of linen is it wicks away moisture better than cotton. Sure there are wrinkles, but that's expected. Flat cotten is hotter than seersucker cotton, which because areas are raised in seersucker cotton, allows air to "circulate", but linen fibers aways hold less moisture than cotton which allows accumulated human moisture to evaporate sooner and the shirt to be cooler to wear. Linen also reflects more sunlight than cotton. You live with the wrinkles to be comfortable and the wrinkles signify you're "cool".

I received my Mint Blue medium and it's a great color. I like these shirts so much, I also purchased a Bright Navy which looks a tad lighter than in the photo, which pleased me. Cool, comfortable shirts! A touch of ironing gives them a crisper look, but they're easy to iron.

I live in hot Austin, Texas. I like linen. I like a loose fit. This shirt is a light weight linen. The fit is not particularly loose, but nor is it tight. I gave this shirt a four stars not because there is anything wrong with it, but because I would have preferred a slightly looser fit. My shirt is well make from a stitching, button point of view. I went to buy another but my size is all gone.

The shirt is nice at very low price. Low inventory limited my selection. It would be a nicer shirt if it had a different shaped collar like a true sports shirt since you will never wear a tie with it.

Hubby loves this shirt. I got the large in clear blue. I came back to get more, but larges are all sold out.
It's wrinkly, but we expect that of linen. It's a perfect light weight shirt for tropics. Nice and airy but sturdy.
I'd like more colors and/or patterns, and I'm hoping they'll have more this year.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Turtle61 Men's linen (White) short sleeved shirt
Too shear for a men's shirt where an undershirt is clearly not a good choice. Need's to be made of a slightly heavier weight linen cloth. The fit was good for me. I would pay more for the heavier weight cloth. Linen is expensive.

The sizing was confusing . Said it was slightly fitted so I ordered one size up and it was way too big. Order same size that you regularly fit . Sizing is main issue.
