Rated 3 out of 5 by goose Make it Wrinkle Resistant, please
This is a great shirt. Large Tall for 6'2" 172 lbs. fit very nicely. After sitting for a minute while putting on my shoes and socks, the front of the shirt was wrinkled where I had bent down. I realize linen wrinkles easily, but LLBean makes a Wrinkle Resistant Linen Blazer, so why can't you make the linen shirt wrinkle resistant like your Blazer or wonderful cotton WR shirts? Slightly is the key word for fitted in this shirt, can't imagine this if it was not slightly fitted.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bigalinoregon nice relaxed soft comfortable shirt
I read a review from a customer that complained about the wrinkles. It's unfortunate that he wasn't aware that this is characteristic of linen fabric. I like a nicely pressed shirt when I'm wearing a suit but this shirt isn't intended for that. I like the beachy Bohemian relaxed look and the softness and easy drape of the fabric is wonderful after so many permapressed shirts that feel like I'm wearing sheet metal instead of cotton. I dried it on a delicate setting and it came out with a seersucker look; kind of puckered. I have ordered another in a different color and would order more if there was a larger color selection.
Thank your LLbean

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mojoon I love my linen shirts....
Linen is not for everyone as are all shirts. I have pinpoint oxford shirts for dressier wear when I want a crisp no wrinkled look. I have seer sucker shirts with buttoned down collars for a casual, but somewhat dressy appearance and I have linen for my more completely casual dress. I have short sleeved and long sleeved linen shirts. I'll wear my long sleeved linen shirts if I'm I'm going to a casual cocktail party or out for a casual dinner or visiting friends at the beach at night, usually with the sleeves rolled up. Wrinkles are to be expected with linen and are considered part of the look. I give my linen a quick ironing, but don't expect every wrinkle to disappear. I live where it's hot and humid and polo shirts, seer sucker, linen and madras are the coolest shirts to wear. I wear dressy oxford shirts to events when I have to and often suffer if I'm not in an air conditioned environment. Flat cotton, long sleeved dress shirts just don't breath enough for where I live. There are understandable variables based on location and different personal tastes for what one wants to wear. A person should buy what they like.

I purchased 2 Linen shirts for my husband. Both my husband and myself are very disappointed in the shirts. It is almost impossible to iron them and when he wore them to work co-workers asked him if his iron was broken. When he returned home he looked like he had just come out of the dryer. I would NEVER recommend these shirts to anyone. Don't waste your money unless you enjoy the wrinkled look.

Rated 3 out of 5 by marksalot More slim fit than slightly fitted
I have slightly fitted shirts and this one fits completely different. Much smaller. It's a shame too because it was such a nice shirt, breathable fabric, great icy blue color.
My problem was I just could not fit into it. After washing it shrank too much. My size large fit like a size medium would. If you have beefy arms, you will not fit into these sleeves. My upper arms are 16-17 inches in circumference and the sleeve fit skin tight. If I were to flex my biceps I probably would have ripped out of the sleeves.
If you have a slender build, by all means get it because it really is a great summer shirt. But buyer beware if you have larger than average arms. I had to send it back. LLbean please make a traditional fit linen shirt!

Rated 5 out of 5 by JKDVT Great shirt with a nice fit and feel
It's hard to find real linen shirts that don't cost a fortune, and we stumbled on these in an LL Bean store. Decided we liked the first two so much that we ordered a third online.
The shirt has a great, beefy linen texture and looks great with the sleeves rolled up. As the product is listed, it's "slightly fitted," which works well for my broad-shouldered, narrow-waisted and long-armed husband, who hates having a lot of extra fabric around his middle (since he is a tucked-in dresser).
The shirt irons up a treat, but really, if you take it right out of the dryer, it's fine?just a more casual look. There's nothing like good linen and it shows, ironed or not. If this shirt came in more colors we'd buy them all!

Rated 4 out of 5 by SparkyFromPasadenaCA Excellent fit and finish.
I am north of 40 years old. I am 6'1" tall. 210 pounds. Athletic. And I like quiet walks on the beach. Haha.
I have a long torso. And long arms. The LL Bean sizes are legitimate. Some XL sizes in most other stores are not true XL sizes.
The mens' size issue may be a marketing ploy by other companies who know how fragile the male ego is. So - smaller guys who buy an XL from another company can say, "I wear an XL."
Well - I am a decent sized dude. And the LL Bean LARGE TALL is prefect for me! It is a legitimate LARGE.
My pant size is 36 waist and 30 length. So I guess I am "almost" stout. The rest of me is torso. But people say I have a nice shape.
And yes - I like sushi. Haha.
This linen shirt is nice. I like the collar - and the fit and finish is nice.
CONS? Wish there was a slightly darker shade of blue. Like the prisoner blue color of the 1950's "Cool Hand Luke" genre. Prisoner blue is my color.
It brings out my eyes. Haha.
And - sometimes - well - actually OFTEN - the LL Bean shirts have a button and button hole mismatch. The button hole is either too big or the button itself is too small.
I often take my LL Bean shirts to the tailor and have them reinforce the shirt buttons and tighten the button holes. Kind of a hassle.
I have done this with almost every LL Bean shirt.
Surprised no one has caught this over the years. I also put a little dab (emphasis on a little dab) of crazy glue on the button stitching to prevent button loss.
This seems to be one consistent frustration I have with the LL Bean shirts. Button and button hole mismatch.
So, I suggest putting the male ego aside and ordering your true size. I get almost double XL everywhere else.
LL Bean - sizes are legitimate. Read the six guidelines before you order something too big.
And the return policy and customer service are always amazing.
I work in Hollywood. And - when I am on set - people usually appreciate the old school gravitas and function of the LL Bean name.
But that darn "button hole - button" relationship can be trying at times.
Otherwise - I have been a satisfied customer of LL Bean's for over 40 years.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 1456 No Medium Size
I liked the medium sized short-sleeve shirts purchased for summer so much that I wanted to also get the long-sleeve version for fall wear. However, the long-sleeve shirt was NOT available in medium, and large is too large.

O.K., I know it's linen, but I was encouraged by reviews that downplayed the amount of "touch up" needed - which turns out to be basically the whole shirt out of the dryer - if you are so inclined, which I'm not. Maybe I'll buy a steamer.
Good late Summer/Fall weight and construction, and 'slightly fitted' Regular Large is accurate (6', 175).
