Rated 1 out of 5áby chowdahs not up to SmartWool
This is more like a liner for a hat or beanie. It's very small and it's so thin I'm not sure it would even work well as a linter. It's on the way back to llb.

Rated 3 out of 5áby MIRunnerGuy Seems OK but not what I expected...
I am a huge fan of SmartWool and would love to give this 5 stars, but it just isn't what I expected. Apparently SmartWool found a way to weave merino wool as thin as possible, because this cap is nearly as thin as a nylon stocking. I used it while cross-country skiing and will plan to use it on cold runs, but it fits a bit loose over my ears as compared with a cap that has a heavier weave. Other than that, it kept the rest of my head pretty warm. If you are looking for a cap to wear under another cap or under a balaclava, then this would probably be perfect for that. If you are expecting this to be your one and only go-to cap for all your winter sports (as I was), then you may be disappointed with the lack of heft. If the weave was just a little thicker and provided more of a tight fit, it would be great.

Rated 3 out of 5áby odanny Super thin, super lightweight
This is an extremely thin and lightweight beanie that would be perfect for someone who is very active outdoors. To give you an idea of its size, you can fold this beanie up smaller than you could a handkerchief. It could slip into your front pocket of a pair of pants. It would also make for excellent layering outdoors as the base layer. I don't give it a higher rating based on durability issues. Mine has a small hole in top where the tags were attached to it, even after I very carefully removed the tags. I expect the hole will eventually get larger, but I'm still keeping it.
