Rated 5 out of 5 by 1970 terrific support
I've been buying Merrell shoes for some time and these new Allout Blaze are the best they have ever come up with. They fit my feet perfectly - normal width in the back and middle of the shoe and lots of extra room in the toebox.
The support is outstanding. My feet tend toward the flat side and this shoe gives me the best arch support I have ever had in a light hiker. There is no removable insole (it is built into the midsole) and that feels a little weird at first, but you quickly get used to it.
They are relatively light and very breathable considering that they have a waterproof membrane in them (merrell's select dry).
These shoes have instantly become my favorites. I would order the low cut version if LLBean would offer the waterproof version. (hope they are listening).
I think these shoes will fit a wide variety of feet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Chagahunter lace eyelet fail
After wearing these shoes for four times, of which two were easy hikes, a lace eyelet, pulled out from the shoes.
Too bad, these are very comfortable shoes and handled the terrain very well.
I will be taking these back. When you pay this amount of money for some shoes, you would expect them to be better constructed. Very disappointing. But I am grateful that I bought these at Beans, as I know that Beans will exchange or refund my purchase.

lightweight and flexible but limited support; reasonable tradeoff. definitely narrow and lack of insole is somewhat problematic to manipulate fit. good cinch lacing. hoping that repeated wearings will result in conformed fit. hoping to not have to return; after a few hours they actually feel pretty good but they're tough right off.
