Rated 4 out of 5 by jbPalmyra Well made, but sized small
Overall I like the fit and feel of these, but had to return the first pair and order one size larger waist than all other pants I buy from LL Bean.

Bought these for my DH early 2015. He wears them often, and they fit and look really nice. The right side pocket fits an Iphone 5 but not anything bigger. The left pocket zips up and will fit a small notebook or other items. The rear pockets have a flap and velcro closed.
The downside - not really a deal breaker - he has the grey pants. And any drop of water stands out like a sore thumb. So if he washes his hands and then wipes them on his pants - the water spots are obvious and don't dry for several minutes. It doesn't bother him much. But it is still unsightly to me.

I had purchased some Allagash cargo pants and wasn't thrilled with their durability. Bean with its awesome customer service graciously agreed to replace them despite being two years old. The Riverton pants they sent as a replacement are a great combination of style, fit, and durability. They are much more fitted than traditional cargo pants, so they look great. They still offer a few extra pockets for storage for added convenience. Very happy with this product!

Just the right amount of room to move, coupled with a practical blend of materials, that results in a pant that is suitable for moderate outdoor activity to business casual functions indoors. Highly satisfied with this unique pant and I expect years of use.

I love the lightweight material and the extra pockets. They're perfect crossover casual/play pants. But I don't like the low waist and tight thighs. In fact, the tightness of the thighs make the zipper pocket on the left leg pretty useless. I wish Bean offered them in 2 different fits like they do their jeans: natural- or comfort-fit and regular waist for those of us who don't like the feeling that our crack is showing when we bend over; and the modern low-waist, skinnier fit that appeals to younger people. If the fit were right, these are pants I would buy in every color. The fit doesn't appeal to me but if you're young and skinny, you'll love 'em.

I never review pants, after all, pants are pants. But these pants are absolutely fantastic! I love the material, the cut, pockets, structure, and fit. I love them so much I will be buying more of them. I only wish L.L. Bean would add more colors (as of this review they only have 4 very similar colors). Highly recommended.

These pants are worth it. I was a wildland fire fighter for a few years and we were issued Nomex (fire retardant pants) these pants have the same feel and durability in the field as those pants. But they are not fire retardant. The convinience of many pockets allows you not to sweat the small stuff. They are very comfortable from the thigh up to the waiste. Only con is the bottom hem of the pant is a little too narrow (I have thin ankels). How can a person not try them based on LLBean's return policy-best in the business.

Rated 4 out of 5 by RWYguy good pants
I bought these pants in June of 2015. They do fit a tad tight in the thigh, but I admit I bike and inline skate and do a lot of stuff outside so my thighs are bigger than a lot of guys. The rise is a bit lower than most jeans, which makes my girlfriend happy, as she says I tend to "wear my pants a bit high". The styling is great, although I could sure do without the velcro flap on the back pockets. The material is for sure faster to dry than denim or canvas, though not as fast as the fabric in the mountainside pants, which I also love. They are a great weight for summer, and next winter I will try the lined version.
All in all a great value in a great pair of pants. Really like them a lot. When they go on sale I will buy two more pair for this summer. I wear a size 34/34, and the fit is right where I like it.
