Well designed, perfect fit and value for the dollar. Recommend as the "go to" pant for all casual situations.

I've had these pants for only a short time, but they've been through 2 washings, 4 hikes with one in a downpour and the pants have preformed well. That said, I have some negatives. First of all in my opinion, these should be used as an outdoor pants only! They tend to look unkept rather quickly. The material as strong as it is, stretches from use, i.e the knees and seat area. Good design of all pockets. I feel they could use a couple more belt loop in the rear. The pants are somewhat stiff but will probably improve with age. Overall a good durable outdoor pants!

Rated 5 out of 5 by pangero bought one, ordered a second
Very happy with this purchase. Strong material and stitching. Not too tight for my muscular legs. Iphone fits in right leg pocket. Wallet fits in zipper pocket. Deep front pockets useful. First pair shrunk a little bit after washing and drying. Second pair didn't shrink at all. Again, very pleased.

These have become by go to khaki pants. I love the articulated knee and the gusseted crotch. I'm still not sure what the zipper pocket on the left leg is for though, about the only thing you can fit in it is a pen. Also the only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the fact that is stains really easily. I'm going to try to treat it was a DWR product to see if that helps shed some of the spillage I seem to encounter.

Just got these new pants. I was looking for something as comfortable as the 1912 pants which you discontinued:(..These Riverton fit very well, with a great range of motion around the knee area. I have to disagree with some of the reviews about the waist fit being on the large side. I ordered one size down and I must say they are a bit snug. I might return them for my regular size in the future.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ActiveOhioan Great pants for work or play
I bought these pants this summer to wear for work- I work for a hardware retailer, and spend much of the day bending, stretching, stooping, on my knees, etc.- and wanted pants that would stand up to the physical challenges of my work.
After six months of wearing them (almost daily) for work, I am very pleased with these pants. The fabric is very tough and abrasion resistant, the cut is loose enough for comfort but refined enough to be professional looking, the articulated knees provide great comfort and range of motion, and the side utility pockets are great for cell phone, utility knife, etc.
My only criticism of these pants is the rear pockets- the velcro flapped pockets don't add anything but bulk on the rear....patch pockets would perform just as well, and look better, in my opinion.
I have come to enjoy wearing these pants outside of work as well- great for active work around the yard, etc.
Great pant- strongly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Torontobeanfan A Great Pair of Pants
I originally bought a pair of this type of pants made by another company last winter when I was in California. I have always joined wearing them as I find them more comfortable and more durable than my jeans. When I went to L.L. Bean a couple of weeks ago, I checked to see if they had a similar type of pants to my current pair. To my pleasure I found these Riverton pants which were like the pants that I have but better. These pants have zippered and Velcro pockets which give me more security when I wear them travelling. I love these new pants and will highly recommend them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by nospecialcharacters Wide Waist, Tight Legs
Waist runs 1.5-2" larger than Carhartt or Wrangler pants. I normally wear a 33 or 34" waist depending on season. The 34 felt like a 36. Thought maybe it was a fluke and ordered a pair in 33 but felt like they were in the 34 to 35 range. Length seemed accurate (34" inseam).
Only has five belt loops instead of the seven that a rugged set of pants needs to function well with a belt.
FInally, the legs felt constricting and slightly tight, despite an attempt at incorporating articulated knees into the design. I wouldn't want to go for a hike in these; the tight legs would drive me up the wall. I wound up purchasing a pair from a different company that had articulated knees that did function well to help make their pants feel exceptionally comfortable.
I wanted to like them, but must recommend that LL Bean go back to the drawing board with this model.

I'm hard on pants but don't like thick and heavy cotton canvas. So far these pants wear like iron but don't feel as if I'm wearing armor. And they dry quicker too which is a huge plus for the shoulder seasons here in Vermont.
