Rated 4 out of 5 by kimatdcl Just wish LL Bean would make these in an 18 girls'
These run a tad small - I find that some items fit my (almost-adult-sized) 11-year-old well, while others run small. For example, I also ordered the girls' adventure roll-tab pants in a 16 and they fit perfectly #probably due to the elastic waistband#. I really appreciate LL Bean carrying some girls' size 18 items and wish these and other options also came in an 18, to fit a young but tall girl whose proportions are not ready for women's sizes. This would be very much appreciated by us moms who are trying to find clothes that fit #and are appropriate for# girls who are in between girls' and adult sizes.

My 10-year-old loves these pants. They are skinny without being skin-tight. The pants fit her way better than mall store pants. Please, please add colors like black, brown, navy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MomforQuality Almost great
The royal purple is a beautiful rich jewel-toned dark purple. They launder well and are very comfortable. The adjustable waist is GREAT for slender-waisted girls like my daughter. The rise is not too long and not too short--just right! (She wears the size 16 and has a 30-30.5 inseam. She weighs 96-98 pounds.)
I wash these in cold with color-respecting eco-safe laundry soap and dry them on the lowest heat setting.
I would give these pants 5 stars if they were an inch longer to accommodate any shrinkage due to laundering, and if they came in a size 18, too. I hope you'll offer the rich purple in corduroys this year.
PLEASE consider offering your girl's pants in both longer lengths and in size 18. My daughter is not yet curvy enough for your grownup pants! I bet there are many, many girls just like her in the world.

These pants are perfect for my daughter and have been for years. I wish there was a size 18, as my 5'1", 105 pound, 11 year old is in size 16 right now. These fit so great and the colors are fun and stylish for her age. Please add size 18 for girls who are tall and still wish to dress their age. Thank you!

Rated 4 out of 5 by JoJoshopper Beautiful but too small
These pants would be wonderful if they fit. The material is soft and light. The color Aurora Purple is gorgeous. I just really wish LLBean would make Girls Plus sizes. Too tight around waist, hips, thighs, so they must go back. Too bad because they sure are beautiful pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigSkyBuckeyeMom Great pants - exactly what we wanted!
We ordered these pants in the French Blue for our 11-year-old daughter, and she loves them! They fit her very nicely - we like the adjustable waistband, because they allow the waist to be cinched in a bit to avoid the gap in the back that many other pants end up with. The color is beautiful, the fabric is a nice weight (not too thick, not too thin), they're soft, and they're flattering. The fit is just right for my daughter, who is average build and just starting to develop some curves. I wish they came in some more colors - like navy, tan, or black - so they would go with a greater variety of tops. But we love the pair we have - we've also ordered the shorts!

Rated 4 out of 5 by NCActiveMom35 Nice fabric, great for uniform
I ordered the tan size 10 for my eight year old to wear to school as part of her uniform. The waist is a little too big (even with the adjustable tabs). The length, however, is just right. Based on how my daughter fits into other brands' clothing, I would say these run a bit wide and a tad short. The fabric is a good thickness and the pants wash very well. The cut is also cute - like a trendy fitted straight leg rather than a too tight skinny or an unflattering wide leg. I would really like to be able to order these in dark navy. Also, the snap button that LLbean sometimes uses on kids pants would really be great on these. The button/loop closure is too hard for younger children to navigate at school which prevents me from ordering these for my other daughter.

There are some negative reviews for these pants, so I thought I should add my differing opinion.
We love these pants. I have a 9 year old daughter, 54lbs, about 49", and I bought her a size 8. L.L.Bean is now the only place I buy her pants and jeans. She does not like low rise pants and this seems to be the only place we can find a moderate rise. The colour is nice and the quality is great, a good weight material. Admittedly she is a bit short but we still have some extra length, it's nice for us to not have an extra 6" of length. She does have to cinch the waist, but we're fine with that too.
I believe you should give poor reviews for quality, but not fit, which is subjective. You should describe the fit to help others with size selection. I don't write a poor review every time I buy pants that are too long for my daughter. What works for you, never works for us. So if you have a slightly petite child, these may be the pants for you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by vt8hrt Not sized well
I love LL Bean, an avid shopper, and wanted to love these pants for my daughter. I have to agree with the other reviewers that these pants are NOT sized proportionately well. My 9 year old daughter is average for height and weight according to the doctor's growth charts and she is a standard size 8. With these pants, I have to cinch the waist--which is great-- because that means there's growing room. The PROBLEM is that they are WAY too short. I learned later, when inquiring about another pair of girls' pants, that LL Bean's inseams are just short in general for their sizes. Girls' size 8 pants have an inseam of 22 1/2 inches. All of my daughter's other pants--different makes-- ( yes, I measured) run around having a 24 inch inseam--which is LL Bean's inseam for their size 10. One would think, oh just order the size 10, but if I'm already cinching the waist on the size 8, the size 10 will be baggy clown pants around the waist.
Bottom line, until LL Bean properly sizes their girls' pants, I think I'm stuck just ordering shorts!

Rated 3 out of 5 by NYparent A little too big
Bought these for my very skinny child. Even on the tightest waist cinch they were too big, and they didn't look great on the tightest setting. Maybe they would fit a bigger child better but they were not for us. No comments on workmanship; we didn't keep the pants. FYI... daughter is 98th percentile height, 50th percentile weight to give you an idea of build.
