Rated 4 out of 5áby ActiveMomCanada Excellent rain jacket for active kids
I bought this jacket for my 4 year-old son. It is an excellent jacket that is truly waterproof, and withstands walking home from school in heavy rain (without an umbrella). It has nice reflective features, as well as a brushed softer section near the chin so that there is no chafing when the jacket is zipped all the way up.
My only complaint is that the hood seems to be quite large (or wide); it would be nice if it had some adjustable cords to get a better fit in downpours. Hence, the 4-star rating.
My son is slim and 44" tall. The size 4 fits him well, with room to grow into next spring (and possibly beyond). The sleeve cuffs can be adjusted to fit around his wrists so that his hands are not swallowed by the jacket.

That's what my grandson said the first time he wore it in the rain. The construction is excellent, and LL Bean service great as always. After looking at several kid's raincoats, bought this and glad I did.

Rated 5 out of 5áby nannaof12 light rainjacket
this is a really nice light waterproof jacket for warmer weather. It fits well in my grandson's back pack, (is advertised to fold and fit in a pocket but evidently I'm just not that good at compression), but the back pack is fine. It comes in really bright colors so you can pick your child out of a crowd in the rain which is nice. It is just the right length to cover but not so long as you have to sit on it in the car. This jacket was a great choice!

Rated 5 out of 5áby LeeT1 birthday gift for grandson
I ordered this red raincoat for my 9 year old grandson for his birthday. His Dad told me that he had outgrown his raincoat since the past school year. He suggested this item and I ordered it and had it sent to his home in Connecticut. It arrived in plenty of time for his birthday An added benefit was the free shipping for sending it. As usual, L. L. Bean's service was excellent. The raincoat if a bit long , but should fit for at least 2 seasons. After that, it will be saved for his 5 year old brother to grow into.

Rated 4 out of 5áby PastPerfect1 Great fit, but would have preferred better lining.
This is the third jacket of this series that I've ordered in the last three years. While the outer quality and fit is great, and the jacket is indeed waterproof, I was disappointed with the cheap-feeling plastic liner. But, since my son likes it and hasn't complained, we're keeping the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Marni76 They are great!
I have twin grandsons - one is always too cold while the other is too warm. I bought them identical rain jackets - one lined (warm) and the other unlined. Got them in their favorite colors. I like that they are both rainproof, have a hood, and have reflective patches. The boys were both very happy with their new jackets.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Hobbyfarmmom Great rain jacket!
This is a great all around rain jacket! Keeps you dry, very light weight, packs up easily in a zip up pocket. Great fit, true to size. I bought both my sons one, in green and blue. It's a great jacket for rainy summer days, but roomy enough to layer a sweater/sweatshirt under in colder months.

Great lightweight rain jacket/wind breaker. Packs easily as well. Can be worn over a sweatshirt in cooler weather.

Rated 5 out of 5áby pesca Nothing as good as this for this price !
Bought this 2 months ago for my 11 years old. It kept him dry and not sweaty in the rain with 85f in the east coast, and then during a week of fly fishing in British Columbia . He even fell in the river while wading and the jacket kept him bone dry! Amazing. To those who criticize the inner layer, it may look cheap but it works , no sweat, wind resistant , and waterproof. Finally, although it may be early to tell, through all his adventures the jacket seems also pretty tough.
I have looked around for other jackets for kids for serious rain, and unless you want to spend $150 or more nothing is close to this.
