I bought my hammock in the green color which matched nicely with the LL Bean metal stand. The two together are huge and have been enjoyed for a whole summer without issue. Two college age women have had a blast taking summer naps - both at the same time (it is that large). It is well made, comfy, and easily assembled and stored. I bought mine at a LL Bean store which avoided any possible shipping damage, although it was well packaged. Highly recommend - expect it to last for many years.

This hammock is awesome! It is easily big enough for 2 people & is made out of very comfortable Dura-Cord material. The material dries quickly & it comfortable to any exposed skin that may touch it. It is soft, not rough or stiff. A great buy!

I was referred to L.L. Bean from a coworker when asking around about a hammock for my wifes birthday. Having never heard of the company before I was anxious. after reading lots of reviews and shopping around I decided to buy the hammock and hammock stand. The day the hammock was suppose to arrive I realized I shipped it to my P.O box instead of my home address. I quickly called L.L Bean customer service and within minutes they had contacted UPS and the fix was reflected on the online tracking. I just finished putting it together and giving it to my wife, she seems to genuinely love it! shes hard to shop for but I am impressed by how sturdy and big this hammock is. Also extremely easy to put together. We will see how it stands the test of time. I am anxious about one of our dogs is still in the chewing stage so might pack and unpack it for every use but well worth it.

We first owned the LL Bean cotton hammock, which we bought in 2002 or so. It lasted 10 years and then the ropes rotted and it was done. While we loved the feel of it, the white got very dirty and mildew-ey. When we replaced it with this one in Sept 2012, I specifically chose the dark green to hide the inevitable weathering. My husband was hesitant to go with anything but the cotton, but pleasantly surprised at how comfortable it is. The feel of the hammock is what makes it perfect. We love it so much that we bought another one as a gift for an uncle's 70th birthday - to use at "camp" (lake house in the Adirondacks).

This hammock seems well made and is quite comfortable. The only problem is that it seems a bit large for the hammock stand that we've had for about 20 years. The cotton hammock fit this stand quite well. This hammock seems to sag a bit much even on the tightest links of the chain.

Very pleased with quality of the cord. It is very soft. Time will tell if it is durable.

Flimsier and much thinner than I expected from the name Duracord. The gromets on the support are already dislodging with first time use. We got it as a fathers day gift and he loved it but I may consider returning it. I was disappointed. Love the stand though, also from llbean.

I was surprised at how wide it is . . . even bigger and better than I realized when I placed the order. It was easy to set up. My husband loves it, finding it to be very comfortable and soothing. The excellent quality is obvious. We'll see how the color holds up under the Florida sunshine, as we'll have it on our lanai (screened porch to you Northerners!) year-round.

Larger than expected and oh so comfortable. It needs a pillow and large enough for two large adults. A must buy.

Paid almost twice as much as the cotton hammock. Bought to replace cotton hammock which lasted more than 20 years. Bought the synthetic because the catalog said it was impervious to weather, and we wanted to leave it out. Imagine my surprise when the instructions said clearly "Not weather resistant." (There was another tag that said it WAS.) Not made as well as older cotton one. Knots in middle, not just by the boards. May send it back, but it is so large!
