I wanted to use this shirt for keeping warm during water aerobics. I am a size 12-14, and am fairly fit, with broad shoulders. This shirt - which I ordered in XL just to be sure it would fit my shoulders, not only is not XL, but would barely fit an M. You would have to have toothpick arms to use this shirt.
I managed to get my arms through the arm holes, and it took rather a lot of tugging to get my head through the neck hole. I became afraid to even pull it down over my shoulders - let alone my body, knowing I would not be able to get out of it. I had to get my daughter to help me wriggle out of it without tearing my ears off. Just out of curiosity, I had her try it on. She is a S-M sized, very fit person. She got it on OK, but was unable to get out of it on her own. Returning this with comments.....

Needed to order 1 size up. Designed to have a snug fit. Works well. Good range of motion in the water. Perfect amount of warmth for lake swimming for someone who is easily chilled.

I usually wear a women's 6 but ordered a large because I want to swim in the shirt and don't like anything too tight. The main problem is the thin material on the sides was very tight, uncomfortably so, in my underarm area. Otherwise, while not a deal breaker, it would have been easier to get off with a pull zipper . Had it fit, I think it would have kept me warm. Too bad.

Neoprene is supposed to fit close, but I couldn't even try on this shirt. Definitely runs way small. Checked the size chart and ordered XL, I would normally be a 14-16. I returned it to the store and asked the clerk to guess the size when I held it up. Her guess - "medium". Men's sizes are way too long so I had no options with Bean. If you are slim, order up a size or even two. If not, try another vendor.
