Used these on a five-mile hike in mountainous area. They worked great! I previously used only one pole, but was surprised at the ease of using two poles. Have had surgery on both knees and the poles made the hike much easier.

I started using them this summer & will take them on every hike. The poles allow you to maintain consistent speed. I was able to move at a good clip. Kept me steady on uneven terrain, steep ascents & descents. I've used them in field, forest, wetland, rocky trail & dune. This model has designated R & L hand poles which help maintain a comfortable grip. I like the shock absorber: it's great on uneven terrain and it saves wear & tear on your joints. The trekking poles keep your pack steady. They keep you on the move. Allow you to use your energy for the hike itself. Buy the rubber tips. The rubber tips are good for hard surfaces. Metal tips can tear fabric or cause injury. Also reduces wear on the metal tips, provide safety when packing for trip & around children.
