Our children (ages 4 and 7) wore these all over Australia for months. Even on hot days in the city they preferred them to their sneakers because they are so comfortable.

My son loves these boots. They do run a little small we had to send them back and get a bigger size. Can't wait to have him try them out in snow.

Rated 5 out of 5áby giddykipper Great boots for walking!
I bought these boots for my 9 year old for hiking with her scout group and they are so comfortable and light for her to wear! I thought that she would have to break them in and so she wore them around the house for a few hours before her first hike, but there were no complaints at all about them! I expected at least a 'these are stiff' or 'they're rubbing a bit' but nothing! Would have no problem recommending them - in fact my friend has already ordered some for her son!!

LL Bean shoes always fit my son's feet the best. He has a high arch and it is very difficult to find shoes that he can wear comfortably. These hiking books fit just as good as the sneakers and they look great!

After only few days of using these boots for school, my seven year old boy complained today his big toe was hurting and when I looked, he had blisters in both big toes and on both of his pinky toes as well. I bought him his next shoe size (2) to leave enough room to grow so its not because it was too tight.
I checked the boot and noticed there is not enough padding in the front section and you can feel the rubber shapes. I'm quite surprised and will go back to the store to return them. It might be an isolated boot that was not well made but I'm not happy with sending my son to school with 4 band-aids on his little toes.

These boots are great!
We are on our second pair; just because he needed the next size!
They fit true to size. They really hold up very well; they keep your feet very dry.
We actually used them for snow boots last year!

Bought them without her present... and she loves them. That rarely happens. She is picky. They fit great and clean up great too.
A great hiking, camping, winter wear shoe.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Brooklynforever Excellent hiking boots for kids
We bought these boots for our three daughters two years ago. We bought new pairs this summer. The girls are ages nine and seven and seven. Our eldest daughter tells me the boots are very Comfortable after a full day of hiking. She says the one downside is that if you don't lace them properly your feet might slide forward and crunch your toes. They are also waterproof. The girls walked through every mud puddle they could find. Their feet were still dry at the end of the day. We have hiked in the Adirondacks and in the Catskill Mountains with these boots. The boots go great with smart wool socks.

This is the second pair of these boots I've purchased for my very active , outdoor-lovin' son. He is 10 (soon to be 11) and is a magnet for dirt and grime. I purchasd these boots for him to wear at Cub Scout Resident camp as well as other camping events. We live in western PA so the weather is quite variable (even in the middle of summer it can be cool and damp) These boots are great. They keep his feet dry and are comfortable enought to be worn all day without issue. I also have a similar pair of boots for myself from L.L. Bean woman's footwear and I love them too. I felt the sizing was good. They run a tad on the larger end of the scale so I measured my sons foot using the directions from the sizing chart and then chose the size closest to what he is currently wearing. I was tempted to size up in order to get more use out of them before he outgrows them, but I didn't want his foot to be sliding around on the inside. I'd say that the size 5 boot is closer to a 5 1/2 in regular shoe size, so there's a little room to grow.
** NOTE to LL Bean - I would prefer the shaft of the boot to be an inch or 2 higher to allow for better coverage when hiking through long , wet grass and spashing through puddles**
This was not a deal breaker, the boots still performed well, but it would be nice to make that an option.
