Comfortable and very light. I have not put this to the test yet. I'm hoping to use this as a light layer for cool morning runs, and also as a light but warm layer for travel. It is a very thin layer. The cut is flattering. I'm 5'2" and 105 lbs. and the XS fits well. Loose enough to layer underneath, but cut nice so it still flatters the waistline.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kjrose perfect for winter activities
I snow shoe every weekend and have had to work on clothing combos due to getting excessively hot. I ordered this jacket and did get a size bigger, knowing I would be doing layers. It is perfect for outdoor exercise. It was 22 degrees when I got started and the jacket with my layers was perfect. I also spend a lot of time in the summmer hiking and backpacking and this jacket will now be a part of those trips as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by keerasel Lightweight, but really warm & comfy!
As someone who keeps their house chillier than most, I really appreciate the warmth this item provides. Not sure how I feel about the thumb holes at the end of the sleeves - they come in handy when I'm pulling another layer over it, but when I need to get my hands wet (dishes, food prep, whatever), then I need to pull them back and get 'em out of the way. Compared to another shirt I have, they are much looser, and tend to look a bit sloppy (I'm wearing a small) but overall, this is pretty nice. Zippered pockets, and the tailoring make it a nice fit. Price? Well.... it was a gift, and if I was buying this, I'm not sure I would have been happy about paying that much ($70+)

Rated 4 out of 5 by SarahBean31 Good but missing something
I bought this jacket for multiple purposes. The first was for cross country skiing where it works as a great layer for under my coat on colder days. The vest is very warm as another layer. I do wish that the arms were made of a thicker material which is the "something missing" I put in the title. The other purpose was for running into stores while shopping. When I wear my full winter coat to the mall, etc. I find that I get too warm very quickly and then have no where to put my bulky coat. This vest with arms works very well as an extra layer that I can take off and store easily. Good light-weight coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by prataria Comfortable, great fit and flattering!
I love this jacket! I bought a size small (I'm 5'1" and weigh 120) and it fits great. I've worn it to a casual cocktail party with a cute skirt, tights and boots, and I've worn it cross-country skiing. At the party it was just enough without getting too hot inside the house, and while skiing I wore it with one other layer underneath and it was just the right warmth (24 degrees in Yellowstone National Park). It's very comfortable; keeping you warm, yet not over-heated, and it's flattering; with the darker side panels - it's very slimming! I've gotten compliments the three times I've worn it. It is not a snug fit, just slightly loose. I'm considering getting another!

Rated 5 out of 5 by kpow52 Great layering piece
This is a great piece for outside activities on cooler days or layering when you want to keep your core warmer and have less layers/bulkiness on your arms. I use it under a ski coat, running/snowshoeing and whenever I want a little extra wind resistance. It is NOT a heavy jacket and the sleeves are a light knit with the insulated area at the core only.

I was hesitant to spend the $75 (sale price in store), but wanted a light weight warm option for winter sports; this jacket does the trick. I wore it over my LL Bean long underwear and under a LL Bean parka on one of the coldest days we had experienced in a while in New England...the Artic Vortex! It was ten degrees at the base of the mountain in VT we were skiing at (which was an improvement over the 18 below zero the night before) and a windy day. This jacket helped to keep me warm and was an improvement over the bulky sweater I usually wear skiing. I would definitely recommend it for winter walkers, skiiers (both alpine and nordic), skaters, etc. This jacket is a five-star item; the full price of $90-$100 is too steep, the sale price of $75 is a fairer value.

I couldn't have imagined this jacket, but as soon as I saw it in the store I knew it was what I needed for winter runs! The insulated vest is lightweight and warm, and the arms/side panels are the right balance of warming and wicking. I love the thumb loops on the sleeves--I can usually skip gloves, and just tuck my fingers in until I've warmed up. The pockets are crucial for tissues, chap stick, and key--though I do wish there were one more inside to put my key, where there's no risk of dropping it.
I've worn it on every run since it arrived, and now I can't imagine going without it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by LexNY Not bad but not what it was supposed to be.
It is not bad --but it is really more of a thin sweatshirt--not a jacket. It is quite thin. It looks like the top from a training suit. The grey color is much lighter than on the picture. It is not gun grey. I don't think it is worth more than $35. It is beautiful in a sense, but not what I expected.

Rated 5 out of 5 by purplecrone Perfect cross-country ski jacket
This a great winter jacket for high-energy outdoor activity. I bought it as a xc ski jacket and it is ideal. Wind-proof light insulation front and back pus stand-up neck, stretch arms/shoulders for movement and ventilation, plus large pockets. Even has thumb holes. I read the reviews and bought one size larger than usual. I like a somewhat loose fit so it was good. If you like a conforming fit to aerobic clothes, normal size would work.
