Rated 3 out of 5 by marypr2 Nice fabric, but too tight
I ordered both the top and bottom when they were on sale. I ordered the same size I have in at least 2 suits from LL Bean, and this suit was much tighter. Both the top and the bottom were too tight in the stomach area. I am not willing to show off my flab at this point in my life. Some may have worn the suit this way, but I wouldn't. The length on the skirt was good. The top was just a little too short for my taste.

Ordered this in pink. It didn't quite match the polka-dot pink top, but close enough. The fabric is great. It is light enough to dry more quickly than other skirts I've tried, but is still very good quality. It has a typical yoga-pant waistband, which I find very light and comfortable. It lies flat and doesn't dig in and create a bulge like elastic waistbands I've tried. I noticed that some reviewers are bothered by the very thin elastic in the wide waistband, but I find that is what makes it light and comfortable. A wider elastic would be heavy and constricting. I usually find the tummy control in swimsuits very uncomfortable, but this one is light enough to not be constricting, yet feels secure and supportive. The length is perfect - long enough for modesty, but not too long for swimming. I find llbean sizing to be a bit smaller than I am used to - I often take size 16, but was glad I read the size chart and ordered an 18 from my measurements. The chart is accurate

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jbrownbear Just not for me
When I purchased this I forgot that it was only a bottom, but willing to purchase the top if it fit well. Sadly, the bottom did not fit well, but I have an older shape and this one just didn't work out for me.

I was so excited to see this back - I had searched faithfully several times a year - just in case - but I missed it - and now they're gone - mostly out of stock -
I have two - the reason I only give it four stars is because the fabric on one "picked" - it is SO comfortable that I wear it at home anyway - and I think the fabric has been improved now and I was so anxious for a fresh start - the length is PERFECT - yes, I would wear it anywhere I would wear shorts, but the BEST ever - why don't they make/order enough?? Pricey, but worth it -

I was afraid that I'd look like a thick-thighed, middle-aged woman in a mini-skirt, but instead I look fashionable and appropriate! My husband's face actually lit up when I tried it on for him. He said, "You look beautiful." And the material is so soft and feels so comfortable on, not at all tight and binding. I bought the suit in the solid blue bottom and dotted top and love it so much that I just ordered another in the solid huckleberry bottom and top. Thank you, LLBean -- I'll feel comfortable and confident at the town pool this summer for the first time in years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GeorgiaBeanShopper Love this!
For the first time, I am completely happy with a swimsuit! The skirted bottom has an overall great fit. It is not too long, but long enough to cover my not-so-young-anymore thighs; not too full, but full enough not to cling; and the waist is not too high but high enough to cover my tummy rolls. I love being able to order one size top and another size bottom. All in all, I love this swimsuit!

I wasn't able to try on the Summer Harbor swimwear at my local store, but I tried on the BeanSport swimwear for size while I was there. I ordered the Skirted Bottom and am happy to report that the sizing is similar! I am an apple shape and the skirted bottom helps to balance out my shape better than a regular bikini bottom. The fit is also very similar to the Fitness Skort (with a bikini bottom rather than the shorts, though), with a similar length. It's a flattering length that shows off the strength in my quads and legs, but keeps that pesky thigh area hidden. :)
