Rated 4 out of 5 by CarmenSandiego Great for pear shapes or small busted women!
I tried this top a year ago and it did NOT flatter. I'm 5'1", 112 lbs, 32DD with narrow hips. Basically I'm top heavy, but otherwise straight bodied. This kind of exaggerated my large bust and added weight to my petite frame.
I just gifted this to my mother and it looks stunning on her! She's also petite, slender but with an A cup. Whatever weight she carries is in her stomach and hips. This top balanced her out: made her look a bit curvier up top and slimmer down below.
I'm getting a few more for future presents (Mother's Day, Christmas etc.)
Botton line: depends on your body type!
The pima cotton is very fine, good enough to wear to work or a nice dinner out. I'd say the style is "dressy casual", if that's not an oxymoron!

With so many five star reviews and so many loyal wearers, this shirt deserves a permanent place in the Bean line. It's the perfect shirt: great lightweight fabric, great styling (3/4 sleeve and forgiving pleats) and superb comfort. It is basically what I live in. And despite the number I have, after so many wearings, they are starting to look really tired. I need more. Lots more. PLEASE BEAN, BRING THESE BACK. (Especially in women's sizes!)

Great shirt for casual and for dressing up with scarf/jewelry. This shirt is soooo comfortable, that I have bought additional ones for work around the house. I love that they are offered in petite and have multiple colors. I wish LLBean would not discontinue them, but also bring them back in patterns (and still in petite). I wear these year-around in Montana.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tbearmom Soft and luxurious
I could easily live in this shirt 24/7. The fabric is the perfect weight, not too thin, not to heavy. The softness is unparalleled. As 60 year old with a 3 child belly, I don't have the perfect hourglass shape, but am not overweight. The slight gathers in front hide the matronly pooch, but it does not look like a maternity top. It is nice to see slightly fitted, but not skin tight. No one wants to see bulges. I am long waisted and many tops are way too short for me. This is a great length, hitting about 5" below my natural waistline. The medium is a perfect fit. I ordered the pink hydrangea and the cardinal red. The pink is a beautiful soft pastel pink, with enough vibrance to give it life. I had to, unfortunately return the red, as it had orange undertones that do not work well with my skin coloring. I wish it were more of a true red. I need to order more of these in other colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyDoc25 Please bring it back!!
Hello? 438 reviews and 4-1/2 stars? Multiple people begging you to bring it back, just the way it was? (The new version with the annoying roll-up sleeves doesn't count.) Hello, LL Bean, can you hear us? [crickets...]
Petal: best color ever!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Madforelton WHY has this shirt been DISCONTINUED???!!!
Though I love many of the LL Bean clothes, I am at a loss to figure out why they consistently discontinue good items and either keep the less popular ones, or replace the good items with less flattering ones (like the henley with roll up button sleeves - yuk!) This is a top rated shirt that was well made, had excellent styling, great fit and came in so many colors to please everyone. This was my "go-to" warm weather shirt and now I can't get it any more as all the colors are gone in size Large. I wish they would let customers know in advance when certain popular things are being discontinued so that you can stock up. Had I known, I would have bought at least 10 each of the White and Petal Pink colors. I am SO DISAPPOINTED!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveTheClassicsLady LOVE this shirt!
What's NOT to like?!? These shirts are beautiful. I am a "petite" frame (110 lbs., 5' 1"), but a tad busty, hippy (add to THAT short legs AND a long torso) for my size. After reading reviews, I chose to order this in a "regular" misses size SMALL. It fits me PERFECTLY, so I ordered two more! I now own the Turquoise and Warm Red (BOTH gorgeous, BTW!),...and just ordered the Mountain Blue. They are beautiful alone OR with a pretty scarf. The FABRIC is SO nice! Not thin and nubby/worn/pre-washed looking. I want a NEW shirt to LOOK "new", and will no longer purchase ANYTHING "broken in"! This shirt met ALL my expectations. Thank you, LL Bean!

Rated 2 out of 5 by CarolinaRoadTripper After multiple launderings the placket puckers
When I first bought this shirt I loved it, like most of the reviewers here. In fact, I ordered a second one in a different color. Great fabric, great drape, great style for those of us with a bit of extra around the middle. But 6 months later, I have to donate it to Goodwill. After multiple washings, the placket where the buttons and buttonholes are has puckered up, and cannot be fixed by ironing. I have tried every ironing technique I can think of to stretch it out and make it lie flat, to no avail. It looks AWFUL. Cheap, and poor quality. I am embarrassed to wear it. I'm thinking most of the reviewers here posted when the shirt was new or fairly new. Warning, folks: It won't look good for long!

Rated 4 out of 5 by mommyz Some muted colors please!
The shirt is great--the material, the fit, the quality--but I wish LLBean would add a few "muted" colors to all its knit shirts--grey, charcoal, heathered navy/moss, etc. Bright colors are great and my mom loves them (she's retired) but one can only have so many teal/coral shirts. A younger urbanite, however, is probably not as interested in three shades of "berry".

Own at least 4. Wear them all the time. Wear them so much I need some more. But they're no longer available. Never noticed problem with shrinkage. Also have the button sleeve shirts which are definitely not as nice-too thin, lost body of fabric. Please bring them back!
