Rated 3 out of 5 by asdf123 shrinks, white on inside
it does shrink, especially in length, but the medium was too big for me (5'9") before shrinking anyway.
also be aware that the color on the outside is not the same as on the inside, and if you unbutton more than the top button, the white on the inside shows.
Other than that, it's a nice shirt.

Nice looking shirt, but over the first couple of washes it shrunk so much that I can't wear it.
I almost never have a problem with merchandise from LL Bean, but this one is definitely a problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Jcs249 Just doesn't fit well.
I purchased two of these shirts last year and have worn and washed them a few times. I don't mind the faded color, but the fit with the neck buttoned or not buttoned looks lop-sided. I have had other similar LL Bean products that look and fit so much better. It might be the heavier cotton material or the construction that makes it uneven. Just note that these shirts are very hot on warm summer days. I live in Virginia and only use these items during the Spring, Fall or an unusually cool Summer day. For the price, I expected a better fit and don't recommend them. I am keeping the shirts and expect that they will become expensive car or garage rags.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stew64 Regular fit and it's supposed to fade.
If the other two reviewers would have bothered to read the product description, they would have noticed the statement that this garment is designed to fade, to give a well worn broken in polo.
I too was not ready to give way to fading but indeed happened as described with even the most conservative care, including the use of WooliteŽ. The fading is slight but could easily pass as a prized shirt from a few summers ago. But knowing that's what the garment is supposed to fade, then I'm okay with it.
The shirt has plenty of room ( I'm 6 foot, 168 lbs.) If LL Bean made a more fitted version, then I would have had the perfect fit. But if you're one who likes a bit more room without looking like you bought a size too big, then you'll love the cut of this polo.
Cool chambray collar lining. It's a nice detail. The matching blue plastic buttons are okay. I'd like to have seen some weathered wooden or horned buttons but that would take this shirt into an entirely different price range.
The tail is even with the front so you don't have that long butt-flap look if you wear the shirt un-tucked. Banded sleeves are comfortable without feeling like I'm getting my blood pressure taken from both arms. Not tight fitting at all. I have somewhat of an athletic build and I don't experience any tight fitting anywhere, even with the collar buttoned up to the top (at times when I feel a bit nerdy.)
Anyway, great shirt. Thinking about buying another in a different color. This review is based on the navy & white stripe polo. The style meets my nautical summer look perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by megapix Good fit, poor wear
I have a difficult size to fit. I need a LG or XL but the tails usually hang close to my knees. This shirt does the trick in an XL but fades badly in a few weeks especially near my waist leaving a whitewashed ring. I continue to purchase because of the comfort and fit but would not recommend to others.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Monina Nice, but not perfect
My husband bought this and he loves it, size is true to fit, but even though I wash it in delicate cycle and tumble dry low, the colors are looking faded, like if it is and old shirt. He will keept it because fabric is not so light, not so heavy.
