I just bought a pair of these to back up my aging Emerger waders. I have only a couple of minor seam leaks in the Emergers which appeared in the stitch holes. Those were easily fixed with Aquaseal. I tried out the new Kennebec waders yesterday on a 30 degree cold windy day. The fit was great, I like the added waterproof pouch, the wide straps made their weight disappear. The wading belt also pulls in any excess bulk you may have leftover, increasing the fit. I am looking forward to the Superseam technology this should reduce the common leak problems associated with stitch holes. I order the large size, At 5'-10", and 215lbs. They fit well and the booties had plenty of room for my 10.5E feet to wear a wicking sock as well as a ice sock to keep my feet warm. I feel I should at least get as much wear out of these as I have my Emergers. If that happens, I shall be more than satisfied with them.

I`m a surf fisherman . This means salt water and pounding waves . The waders are lite weight but tough material . very generous in size could wear with bulky cloths if nessary .. no metal to rust zippers ect . they ride high on the chest a good thing . belt is to low for me waves come up high . I added my own at the top .. So far I love them will see how they wear in 3 or 4 years I expect 5 years out of a expensive pair of waders . But with LL.Beans warrenty all is well .. I will up date this review in a year or so .. Till then Tight lines everyone ..

I bought the stout Kennebec waders because I am only five foot -nine. They are the best fitting waders that I have ever owned. I like the way the wading belt is constructed and fits me well. I hope that they will last a long time.

I have owned LL Bean waders for several years now and their products are exceptional. I have had very few problems with them and when I have, the company has been very nice and replaced them with the same product or one that is similar. Their guarantee on their products is outstanding. I would recommend these waders to anyone who is interested in purchasing a new pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KDCD1980 Great Waders!
I've used these for one year, somewhere between 30-50 times and they work great. No leaks, and I do a lot of scrambling up and down steep & bushy terrain so if a leak was going to happen I would have seen it by now,
I'm not one to write reviews and honestly I had wanted SIMMS waders but I had a gift certificate to Beans and now here we are. Consider the no risk warranty and you can't go wrong with these waders.
FYI, I used them this past winter too, make sure to get/wear long johns & wool socks because you'll freeze otherwise.
I really love the warm pocket to stick my hands in, the Velcro wading belt, and zip pocket. Overall complete dependability.

by ADKTroutbum Durable Comfort
These are great waders for the money. I use them all year long from the Salmon River, NY to small brookie streams that will remain nameless. They are comfortable and easy to adjust to varying levels of layers. They also dry fast if hung which is important to stop the spread of invasive species between waterways.

I've used these a couple of dozen times, and so far I've experienced no problems. I like the belt and the fact that the seams are not on the inside of the legs....I've found that to be the weak spot for all my past waders. The water has stayed out and the fabric has proved durable in hiking through brush. At this point, I'm very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RRbeaner So far so good
I've had these new waders for 2 weeks now using them 6 or 7 times. So far so good. They replace the 3 pair of Emergers that I was rotating for the last 6 years. Two finally gave up on me, too many leaks to keep up with. Once the seems go you're sunk. The new Kennebec waders have the welded seems that you usually have to pay much more for. First use I was impressed with the workmanship and quality of materials. The fit was great, actually comforable and very soft and pliable. Some of the other brands are very stiff. I was concerned about the neoprene yoke on the suspenders that they would be too consticting or hot. But they were very comfortable. I'm tough on waders, I do a lot of bushwacking. so time will tell on the durability. My only regret is after I purchased them Bean had a 15% sale. Still a good value. I'm a trout bum so I can't justify $600. Plus why would you want to buy stuff like this from anyone but LL Bean? If they workout I'll buy a second pair to rotate in.

New waders are great..I come back from fishing now without wet pants..and don't have to take the kidding from my wife.
I might suggest adding an accessory ring or two to the front of the waders to secure line nippers etc.
The velcro adjustable belt is very nice feature for us "older" guys..helps to save the back a little when fishing long hours.
The BIG test for these is how long they last..and remain leak free.
Inevitably they always seem to develop a leak when they are needed most..during the hottest part of fishing season. Guess we'll have to wait and see..right now they are as good, if not better than my previous pair and much more economical than a $600 pair of SIMMS GoreTex waders.
