ride one of these that belongs to a friend and overall it is a fairly fast bike and I do better with flat handlebars instead of the curved kind.
The riding position could be maybe a little higher, but there are extenders for that.
what i hope makes for a good review is how this bike was what I needed when I needed it.
in the place where I live there are a few loose dogs that like to chase after people and especially bikers.
Some would not be friendly if they could catch you, so always better to not be close enough where they can.
This thing can totally leave many but not all in the dust.
and so it's worth a good rating for that.
Also it has once been used to escape from some persons who weren't clear about what their ideas or plans were when they appeared and came at us and so it wasn't worth even asking and me and my friend shook them with these and so this bike makes for a fine escape instrument.
the other individuals even tried to catch us with low power scooters.
maybe just playing around, but we don't take a chance.
hopefully nobody will have to use this bike for that reason, but it must be fast if it worked for me.
but also I am a very frequent cyclist and 6.4 tall and the extra large is functional and comfortable unless I were going to do a 12 hour straight ride or something, and then I might consider rising the handlebars.
but glad I tried this from a friend.

by BigJiminME Just what I needed
I bought the Sport Tour Bike in order to do a 3 day 180 bike ride across Maine on Father's Day weekend. I needed a road bike as my mountain bike was simply too heavy. However, being 6' 7" tall, I never felt comfortable riding the road bikes with the drop down handlebars as I felt I was leaning way too far to the front.
This is one reason I love the Sport Tour Bike. The straight handlebars give me great control and access to my brakes without having to lean way over. The shifter is very smooth and it's light weight helps on those long rides.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PoconoBob Great Service
As far as the bike goes it is to early to tell. I only have 100+ miles on it. However, the service was exceptional which ,I believe, is the standard at LLB.

Rated 5 out of 5 by rujero Awesome value and performance.
Like the majority of L.L.Beans bikes, this is part of the Schwinn Signature series and it's probably the best fitness / commuter bike out there in terms of bike for your buck. I looked at the Specialized Sirrus, the Cannondale Quick and the Trek FX. this bike is a better value. The componentry is comparable with the same name brands and a 6061 aluminum frame that's the same construction as bikes hundreds of dollars more. The bike is fast and nimble, and if I am ever not satisfied I can return or exchange it, which is something I can't do through a bike shop. I am a big fan of the double walled Alex rims and mechanical disc brakes. If there was one thing I would upgrade it would be the saddle, but that's an easy, inexpensive fix. Assembly was free and so will be my first tune up.
