Rated 4 out of 5 by DaveEA Good, with some comfort and fit issues
After about 3 weeks of wearing these almost exclusively, there are good and not-so-good (but not bad) issues I've found. Good: one of the very few sneakers with laces that don't unravel, are cut the right length; soles that grip but don't squeak when walking on waxed surfaces; light and breathable, especially welcome on hot days on the pavement; the anti-microbial feature works - these shoes don't smell! Not-so-good: the sole could stand to be a bit softer, these are softer than Bean's Vacationland sneakers, but still a bit hard; they seem to be a bit more narrow than the "D" width I've purchased on Bean sneakers, but an "E" wasn't available, and that does affect the comfort a bit, even after break-in; I found the length to be a smidgeon less than I expected a 10.5 D when worn with white athletic socks, so I might find it necessary to try sizing up 0.5, but I'll give these another couple of weeks before deciding. Overall, 5 in quality, 3 in comfort, 4 in features - for a 4 overall rating.

Love these shoes! We have a home in Northern MI and sometimes it's a little rocky. This past week I wore them everyday new, wore great right out of the box. I don't think the footpad in side is uncomfortable buts it's not super comfortable. I like the feel of them on my bare foot, seems to give me a better feel and traction. There is a small pocket on the top of the tongue, not really sure what it's for but I have tucked my laces into it and the stay tied and out of the way. Another great product! Thanks :LLBean!

The sole of the Shoe is not flat but is studded and you can feel each stud through the insole. Is similar to wearing a Baseball shoe with cleats Needs a thicker insole for comfort.

Rated 5 out of 5 by northbynoreaster Great Value: Comfortable & Look Good
So far: fits well, easy on/off, comfortable on rocky trails, good traction in both wet & dry conditions and breathes well in summer.
I took the advice of another review and added a gel sole insert: it would be good to make that a standard.

The shoe are comfortable for walking around in. The only bad thing is that one of the soles slipped out as I walked. I fixed it with super glue.

first, i have a long history with llbean. shoes, jackets, sunglasses so i know when i buy something, it is exactly what i want. if questions, i can call and discuss things with very polite, knowledgable staff. the shoes i bought are red and grey, very comfortable for knockaround or running. i have diabetes in my feet so these shoes fill the bill for comfort. also out here in new mexico, we support the arizona diamondbacks and these shoes are their colors. just got back from phoenix, 103 degrees and it was cool.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beansiebuff Comfortable trail shoes
The shoes fit well and are comfortable for long trail walks. The lacing is a bit funky IMHO, but the sizing is right on. These shoes are a great value.

Im picky about good shoes and am not disappointed in these at all. They have enuff cushioning to be comfortable on hard surfaces and good support for walking and light hiking.
I think they will work great in the water but haven't tried them yet there.
Im so impressed with the comfort and they look great well built.
I found them to be true to size. You won't be disappointed in these great shoes for summer.
