These shoes were exactly what I was looking for in looks and fit. I would recommend them to anyone who needs new shoes.

My golden retriever and I hike the trails in the nearby state parks as well as take our city street walks. We average 2 to 5 miles a day. I chose the Pathfinders because I wanted a shoe that could take the pavement pounding and the trail challenges without being too heavy duty.
They work exactly as I hoped they would. They are comfortable on the street and on the trail. They required no breaking in and the fit is both comfortable and supportive.A good solid hiker at a good price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RJMNC Change From 'White' Athletic Shoes
After 50 plus years I got tired of dirty looking 'white' sneakers. While at the same time I required all around foot support. I wasn't too sure about 'root beer' as a color. However, I'm completely satisfied with the color, as well as fit, form and function of this footwear. Weight of shoe is as advertised - equal or less than athletic shoes. I replaced the foot bed with my arch support and walked off. With a high arch, the shoe laces could be an inch or so longer.

I purchased these for a soon-to-be hike in the Southern Colorado Rockies. They are study, comfortable, and offer support to the ankles. And, for my wide (EE) feet, they are just right!

Rated 4 out of 5 by TomH53 Narrow and not comfortable for me
The shoes seemed well constructed and they looked good, but they just didn't fit my wide feet as I expected they would. I was hoping for a replacement for the Rocky Coast Comfort Shoes that have been discontinued, but these were not the replacement. They are probably great if one has a medium wide foot, but they just didn't fit me as expected.

This is the second pair I have bought for my son and they are perfect in every way. The fit is perfect, the material breathes well, he is a walking machine and loves them! I highly recommend them for anyone that is on their feet for periods of time. Whether it is just standing, walking or hiking they will meet your needs.

Service was excellent as was the product. It fits like hiking boot but light like a sneaker. Great for walking or hiking

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2014AlmostRetired Worth it
I tend to be a cheap person, going to outlets, buy one/get one free, etc. But I have really tried to get into walking and was feeling hampered my low end sneakers. So I bit the bullet and spent a little more for these and am so glad I did. They are comfortable and sturdy. After miles of walking I have no pain or blisters. Quality as usual for an LLB product is outstanding.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ptkid2 Narrow fit was the problem
I debated this purchase for some time, not sure I would like the color (root beer), and thinking about other reviews on the sizing. the color turned out to be okay, and the shoes were well made, seemed to have very comfortable cushioning and lining, and adequate room at the toes, but I found these cut a bit too narrow like some others have mentioned in their reviews. Too bad, and I ultimately returned them. I am having a difficult time finding a well ventilated shoe in a wide width. Other LL Bean shoes I have purchased in the past have been fine in width, so I was disappointed. But if you find the fit good for you, I think these shoes would be keepers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KCwalker sturdy and comfortable
The shoes are comfortable, and fit well. I replaced the insole with a
more expensive one for better support.
The shoe should do well for warm weather walking. It has a rugged
sole for traction.
