Rated 4 out of 5áby Wasatch Nice Looking
This really is a nice looking jacket with a slimmer fit. The exterior is smooth and the zippers are highlighted which makes it look pretty cool in my opinion (black/blue). I use it to commute back and forth to work on my bike when it gets colder. Not totally windproof but when I layer it with my windproof biking shell it works great on the cold mornings. When wearing around town it's good down to the 40's and then I'll layer it with a down vest which works great. Complaints are it needs a drawstring in the hood and in the waist, and the inside arms and upper back needs a smooth lining because it snags on shirts when putting on so you have to pull and tuck and adjust.

The Power Stretch Hooded Jacket is the modern version of the hooded sweatshirt. This jacket is lightweight but very warm. It has plenty of pockets with easy zips and front zip. The hood fits great and is also warm. This is the best hooded jacket ever. I really like my green jacket but suggest LL Bean offer a few more colors.

Rated 4 out of 5áby CADJR Good Jacket-But Not As Nice As A previous Model !
I bought one jacket for my son and another one for myself. The fit is comfortable, with enough room to fit an LL Bean Primaloft Vest underneath for extra warmth when needed on days colder than 20 degrees. The jacket has 2 zippered handwarmer pockets and a zippered chest pocket. There are 2 pouches inside that store extra gloves or a water bottle inside. That is a nice extra to have.
The hood is very large, as if made to fit over a climbing helmet. But there is no drawcord or adjustment tab to make the loose fitting hood fit better over a watch cap or a softshell hat with a visor. The sleeves run a bit long, but I just pull the extra material down over the cuffs of my gloves or mittens to keep snow out. It would have been better to have thumbholes and use this feature as handwarmers. No pit zips are included in this jacket to better vent extra heat when working or exercising hard.
A previous LL Bean model had ALL of these features, so it was a much better buy for the price. Now I have to add the thumbholes myself, and get a sewing shop to sew the thumbholes to prevent fraying and add a drawcord to the loose fitting hood.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Skaggs Great Item!
This is a great Stretch hoodie. The fit was perfect (xl-tall)! It is warm and comfortable and does not have the normal "static" shock that most polar fleece items have. The hood ran a bit large, but not a big issue for me. Great Item!

I usually wear a large in most jackets, this jackets sleeves are way too long should be in the tall category. The hood is another problem, comes way down and blocks your view unless folded back over itself. Coat looks good, about it.

These are slim-cut and fit me perfectly (got a S - 135 lbs, 5'6") They are just what I wanted for under jackets without hoods, and they keep the air out under larger jackets. An ESSENTIAL piece.

Rated 4 out of 5áby OnlyPercale Does what it is intended for with some reservation
As other reviewers noted, this is a well constructed jacket with unique properties. It sheds rain, it moves with you and keeps you warm. It also has a very slimming quality to it. As all things with LL Bean, it is extremely well made, and would be difficult to find anything of similar quality elsewhere. My only issue with this is in comparison to a hooded sweatshirt/jacket made of natural material like cotton. The fleece seems to hold onto you--although it does stretch. Trying to get your arms through the jacket is just more difficult than say putting on a similar jacket or sweatshirt not made out of this material. So, although it stretches with you, it actually feels a little confining. I believe this may be only my reaction to this material rather than any inherent issue with the material itself. It does look great when wearing.

Rated 5 out of 5áby HawkOfTheNorth2 Ascent Power Stretch Hooded Jacket
I have to agree with the previous reviewer's remarks regarding the looks of this jacket, It looks absolutely fantastic.
The jacket has a very slimming quality to it while looking very sleek.
I purchased the X-Large black with blue contrasting zippers and could not be happier.
The jacket's weight feels very light but it is surprisingly warm and wind resistant. Although it is not water proof it is very water resistant as I was able to test out in my tub under the shower head for a couple of minutes. The jacket was not perfectly dry on the inside but was probably ten times better than any standard fleece jacket in these conditions.
This will not pose a problem for the vast majority of people as this jacket is made to be used as an under layer for a shell, such as the Ascent Gor-Tex Pro Shell Jacket.
I also own the Ascent Pro Shell and have been able to wear these two pieces together in as low as 0C and 15mph winds on a few occasions in the last three weeks and I can tell you they kept me very warm without being sweaty.
As the name implies the jacket has a great amount of stretch to the material and so is very easy to move in. The inner part of the jacket also has a very soft brushed fleece interior and is very comfortable to wear even with very light undershirts.
There are also plenty of pockets to carry your gear, with to large lower inner pockets for water bottles and such. One outer chest pocket with pass through slot for your mp3 cord etc. and two outer lower pockets that are easily zipped with a pack or not.
There's only two things I would change on this jacket.
One: Put some form of adjustment on the hood as there is no way to tighten it down to your head in heavy winds and it may blow off.
Two: Loosen the fit around the forearms as the jacket can be rather tight in the arms when putting over layers.
Other than these small quibbles I think that this jacket is fantastic and a must have, especially for people who are putting together the Ascent outerwear collection for their wardrobe.
It's another exceptional addition to L.L. Bean's pinnacle Ascent collection.
A win in all departments and highly recommended.
Also, great service as usual.

Rated 5 out of 5áby HighCountry Absolutely Awesome jacket!!
I own LLBean's Polartec: WindPro, WindBloc, ThermoPro jackets and this Power Stretch jacket is without a doubt the most comfortable, best looking jacket of them all. This jacket keeps me dry no matter how high of activity I generate. I thought NorthFace had the good looking jackets, but this jacket makes you look good. Use this as a first layer jacket under the other jackets and you are ready for any weather environment that you encounter from the high (above timberline) Rocky Mountain range in Colorado to the blistering cold Atlantic ocean winds. Outstanding job LLBean, well done!!
