Based on all the reviews and this running small, I ordered a Large whereby I usually wear a Medium, it was HUGE. I have returned it and ordered my normal size and we'll see how that is. Other than that, the dress is cute, the material is good and it seems to be constructed well. If the Medium is good this will be a staple in my wardrobe for seasons to come !

I wore the dress once after ironing it and it wrinkled like "crazy".
Washed it thinking it would soften up and had to "steam and size" it to get the wrinkles out! Never put it on again.
While ironing...the hem was wrinkled beyond ironing.
This is the first time I have been disappointed in an LLBean product.
Plan to return it. Just purchased in April 22, 2013

I loved the fabric and feel of the dress. It fit fine through the shoulders and bust (which was my biggest concern after reading the reviews), but was way too big in the hips. I'm broad shouldered with a short waist and large bust. I was surprised that I looked so broad in the hips (that's not usually a problem for me). So although the seaming and styling are very nice on this dress, it's definitely not a keeper for me.

I was very disappointed in this dress overall but especially with the fabric! I understood clearly the fabric was linen but the stiffness and uncomfortable feeling of it was not appealing to me what so ever! The dress may have been worth keeping if the fabric was made of a softer durable cotton type material that would have possibly made the dress feel and fit better especially during the upcoming hot summer months! The material and even the style lent to a super uncomfortable, restrictive fit especially in the shoulder and sleeve area which I was hoping had not been the case! Overall it's a nice style but would recommend a change to a softer fabric and a redesign of the sleeve to a normal-relaxed fit w/ a mid-upper arm length accompanied by a simple hem. Improvements like this would definitely be enough for me to purchase this type of dress in the future!

I'm 5'3" and I usually wear a small but ordered a medium because others said it ran small through the shoulders. I'm glad I did because it does and the medium fits perfectly! the right length for me at just above the knees.The pockets are in perfect position! The Mallard color is very nice!

I'm 5'2" 115 lbs. and the small petite ran large for me! Way too much material in the entire width of the dress. Using the belt makes it look very bulky. I'm going to try Xsmall petite. I also thought the Mallard color was very dark.

I thank L.L. Bean for providing us thin people with quality clothes. This dress is the perfect size for me. I am 5' 2", 100 lbs and the XS petite fits perfect and is the right length for me at just above the knees. My husband says it looks sexy on me with the slit in front and that is music to my 70 yr old ears!
The colors in the plaid are a pretty blend and nicer in person. It is comfortable, machine washable and I know I will wear it a lot this summer.
The only thing I would change are the sleeves. I'm not a fan of 3/4 sleeves and rolling them up is a little bulky. I am going to move the button over so the sleeve fits a little snugger and see how that goes. I could always cut the sleeves shorter but I'm going to try it out for several times before I make any changes.
All in all this is a high quality, well made dress which is very comfortable.

I first ordered this in medium - I'm 37/31/39. Way too tight in the shoulders. Replaced it with a large - same problem and it felt as if the large were no bigger than the medium through the shoulders - way, way too tight across the shoulders. It's a lovely material, and the mallard blue is beautiful. I'm getting so disappointed in the inconsistent sizing from LLBean. A summer dress this tight would be very uncomfortable in heat and humidity, and if it shrank even a little would be unwearable.

I read all the other reviews of this dress and followed their suggestions. I usually wear a small but ordered a medium because others said it ran small through the shoulders. I'm glad I did because it does and the medium fits perfectly! I love the length, I'm 5'6", it's right at the knees. The pockets are a great addition! The material is great quality with a good weight to it.

I'm a size 42C, 16/18 for tops/dresses and an 18 for pants and I'm 5'4 1/2. lol, a lot of info but that's what i look for when reading reviews! Anyway, I purchased this dress in an olive color (love.) -petite - XL and the hem is right above my knees. I wore a slip since it's a button down and the skirt has a slit effect when sitting. I love it but this dress depends highly on one's body type since i gifted my best friend a blue one (also a lovely color) and she's 5'2 - Medium, but wears a larger bra size. She couldn't button the top part of the dress without being uncomfortable but it would still look great if she wore a slip/tank underneath and unbuttoned the top a bit. There is a lot one can do with this dress, even wear it with your own belt. I don't iron so I washed and hung it and it turned out fine. Don't expect it not to get wrinkled, it's linen.
