Rated 3 out of 5 by oldmtskier Heavy fabric, more "fitted" than expected
I was surprised how thick & heavy the fabric is. Seems more like canvas. I normally wear a 2X, but bought 3X to have a big, roomy shirt. But, it's such a tailored, fitted shirt that the 3X is almost too small in some areas. Huge in others. It's a nice shirt, and was on sale cheap, but just not what I was expecting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by coldincalif Great 100% cotton shirt -- Made in Peru
This shirt was briefly being sold on this site a few months ago. I purchased one in a dark navy blue. It is a great shirt and fits true to size. I normally wear a petite XL but decided to buy this in a 1X so I could wear layers under it.
It washes and dries just fine but it probably should be touched up with an iron being in it is made out of a substantial 100% cotton with nothing "added" (like Lycra or polyester (yeah!!)).
It is difficult to find a shirt like this these days -- a basic, simple cotton shirt made out of a substantial cotton that will likely last for years!
Needless to say, this shirt is a hit for me and yes, it does shrink a bit but that is what one should expect with anything that is made out of 100% cotton!
I just bought two more of these, one in the Hunter and another in the Atlantic Blue during the sale going. It sold out so fast the last time it was around that you see only the one solitary review as they sold out in a flash! Get one or two (or more!) now while you can and they are on sale! You will not be disappointed!
Thanks for a great item LLBEAN!! :)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Iskate Nicely made, but what's wrong with the sizing?
I ordered this shirt in XS a while ago, when it was on sale in a nice french blue color. Beautiful color, well made, but the sizing is off. I am 5'2, 110 lbs, basically fitting to the measurements of XS. The shirt was huge on me. OK, I understand that in regular sizes the sleeves and body would be a bit long, but the shirt was also about 1-2 sizes wider that me. I find this is the problem in general with LLBean shirts - size XS is not like typical size XS, which fits sizes 0-2 and is too small for me in shirts (I am size 4 in the bust and size 2 in the hips actually). But LLBean's XS, which is actually what is considered small by many other manufacturers is really bigger than even size 4, it is more like size 6-8. I read in some other reviews that LLBean is trying to get the sizing right, and it looks now that LLBean's sizing is all over the place - for some items the sizing is OK, for some it is off, and you can never be sure. It would help very much if the product description contained measurements of the items across the chest, waist, hips, length, that is spread the item flat and measure it across with a tape measure, and put that in the item description for each size. This way I could just measure my other clothes to determine if the item would be OK. I know it is a lot of work, but so is processing returns due to sizing, and writing item descriptions that most people don't even need. What we actually need are technical specs: exact fabric composition and measurements, and these things are never in LLBean descriptions, alas. And please, indicate the reviewer's age group in the reviews like you used to do, otherwise one never knows if the item is reviewed by a person your age group. I am 38 BTW, if anybody would find that helpful. Also, on the shirt I received the buttons were not white, they were the same color as the fabric. I ended up giving the shirt to a friend who is taller and bigger than me.
