Rated 5 out of 5 by TeacherSailor Just what I needed!
I originally bought this for hiking, but I threw it in my sail bag yesterday. An hour into our race the wind died, sun beat down, my liberally sun screened arms began to turn red, and the no-see-ums came out. It seemed too hot for long sleeves, but I was desperate. This shirt cooled me down, saved my skin, and seemed to discourage the bugs. I'm buying another so I'll always have a clean one to pack.

I liked this pullover so much that I bought a second one. I like the slim looking fit. I had read that the long sleeves were a problem. I either roll up the cuffs or push the rolled up cuffs up my arm for a three-quarter sleeve look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KKGH fits just fine, looks good
In a few weeks I'll be checking out the bugproof aspect of this top. But I have great hopes for it as it's very light and fits well. I do wish it was a zip on jacket instead so it'd be easier to put on while hiking, as compared to having to pull something over the head, but that's a minor issue. The North Cascades valleys are horrible for black flies in early summer, so I'm counting on this top and will report back!

Rated 1 out of 5 by ARB80 YES FLY ZONE
I have this hoodie in blue (as well as other no fly zone clothes) and it worked very well in the Ranthambore Wildlife Park in India.. However, when I wore the Jade Citron hoodie, the gnats were completely attracted to it (not to any of my other treated clothes). In seconds, my shirt was completely covered with gnats both front and back---luckily I had a jacket with me and I was able to take off the shirt. I don't know if the shirt came through the factory untreated; or if it was the color that attracted the bugs. I returned it to the store; and the clerk told me that writing a review on the web was the only way to alert the manufacturer/LLBean company.

Just received my No Fly Zone Hoody-shipping was very quick but the color emerald does not match color on website-it is more green
Looking forward to using my purchase next week. Bought a light blue one as well and the color is fine on that one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CapeCodretiree Perfect for the job!
Wore my new hoody on a daylong kayak trip. Sun, wind, chill in the air were no match for the hoody. I was very comfortable, no sunburn. Thought the finger holes might cause chafing from paddle, but not a bit of soreness or redness. Plus I think I looked pretty cool! One of my friends asked for the item details so she could order one for an upcoming trip

Rated 5 out of 5 by Roseandflowergirl Best Ever Insect Repellent Shirt!
The Women's No Fly Zone Hoodie is the best ever insect repellent shirt. I live in the forested mountains of New Mexico. The monsoon season last year was miserable; I was bitten by flies, mosquitos, chiggers and fleas. I tried long pants, long sleeve shirts and endless amounts of bug repellent but they still got me. This year decided I would try a new approach so purchased LL Bean's No Fly Zone Hoodie and what a difference. I can now walk the dog, garden and ride my mountain bike in comfort. This shirt is soft, easy care and breathes well. Ordered a size up from medium to large so I could wear a tee-shirt underneath or even a light sweater. Washes beautifully. Absolutely love it! The thumb holes are a nice addition when needed. Would definitely recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by hiker912 Does what I needed it to do
I live surrounded by wooded areas, and the mosquitos can be relentless during the summer. I take my dog for a walk twice a day and hikes on the weekend, and needed something to wear so I did not have to put on spray every time. I wore this all evening recently surrounded by trees, and not even buzzed once by a mosquito! I find the fit comfortable and the thumb holes are not in the way at all - but handy if you need to cover your hands too. The hood slips on easily when feeling especially "bugged".

Rated 2 out of 5 by LindafromBoston Not made for me.
My mistake, I thought it was the new version of the one I had from last year.
I loved this shirt, and packed it for a beach trip. I took it out to wear it and found it had thumb holes. And the sleeves wouldn't slide up. As a woman in my 40?s I don't like the the thumb hole, I don't want fabric on my hands and I want to be able to pull up a sleeve. The banding was tight so I ripped it when I did push up the sleeves. I love Been and will continue to shop there. This shirt was not a winner for me. Give me back a sleeve not intended for a teen.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NYBeanieBaby Great Layering Piece - Sun Protection Too!
I purchased this piece largely for sun protection while working in our yard or lounging, but am happy to have the inclusion of bug repellant, since we live next to a creek and mosquitoes can be an issue through the summer. It is early for bugs, so I can't speak to that quality yet, but if it is comparable to my other LLBean No Fly Zone pieces, it will do the trick. The web page didn't specifically note this, but the hoodie is rated UPF 50 for sun protection, which is the top reason for my purchase. The fabric is very soft and the weight is very light; substantial enough to be worn alone when quite warm outdoors, or sized to allow for a light layer under. The fit is true to size. I'm very happy with my purchase!
