Rated 5 out of 5 by tomur2 Great wedding present
We got my nephew this for a wedding present. Since he wore out chairs going to see kids games, we decided to get some from LLBean so they would be guaranteed for life.. :) :)

When I was looking at camp chairs, I read the reviews for the Base Camp Chair. There were numerous negative comments about the back of the chair and its height as well as it not being supportive or comfortable. Because it still rated well and looked as if it was exactly what I wanted, I took a chance and ordered it. I am so glad I did. As soon as it arrived I opened the package, set up the chair, and sat in it for a long time. I had no issue with the height of the back or the support. It is very comfortable and supportive. I am so glad I didn't go by the negative reviews. Either they were based on individual size and preference or changes have been made to the chair. I love it!

Yet another quality LL Bean product. Yes, they cost more than the one's you can get in the "Marts", but you will go thru 2 or 3 of those before the Bean is done. You do get what you pay for.

I like the fact that if I am camping and the chair is left out, there won't b a puddle sitting on my chair. Plus, It's lightweight and has a cup holder.

Knowing so well the quality of L.L. Bean products, I'm sure it will outshine, outlast and maybe even outlive me and/or my old, brown
though faithful Coleman camp chair.

I bought this chair to replace one that I purchased 2 years ago. That older chair was a high quality sturdy product. This chair is flimsy and poor quality. Very disappointing.

The current chair appears to be the replacement for one I bought a couple of years ago. The tubing is significantly smaller and the back of the chair is much lower. I loved the previous one because of it's durability and support in the back. The current one is equal to chairs found in most retail stores rather than would I have come to expect from L.L. Bean. Yes, you can find a stronger and higher back chair but not in the Base Camp style and at a significantly higher price. I hope this is not the beginning of a trend where profit counts more than customer satisfaction and quality. I quickly retuned this chair to the store for a refund.

This chair is uncomfortable to sit in. The back of the chair has very little 'GIVE' which makes it uncomfortable.

We found these camping chairs perfect for sitting outside around the fire. They are well-made and should last for years.

I have the kids' version which has a fantastic build quality. This one is built similarly, but the upper back is very uncomfortable. The chair frame digs into shoulders, so that you are hunched when sitting down -- it's the same for both my wife and me. The chair is built well, but too heavy for my taste. Bought two at a great discount, but not willing to keep something that's this uncomfortable.
