These camp chairs are amongst the more comfortable chairs I've encountered. Big marks for folding up for storage. They are rather wide and very supportive. The mesh backs and seat are great for airflow but some shorter persons may find the chairs a bit high (I'm 6') I rate the L.L.Bean Camp Comfort Arm Chair 4.5 Stars and a good buy. They lose 1/5 a star because of the strange drink holder - not really handy or well thought out; actually it does seem more of an afterthought. BTW: I did not encounter any of the red tab issues others have mentioned - simply line up the lock tabs and you're done.

Chair it is nice but very heavy and bulky to carry around -defeating the chief reason for purchasing it
they need to make it lighter and the knobs that must be used to open and close are not so easy to use

Perfect camp chair, nice and sturdy!
This is the most comfortable chair I have ever owned.
The ventilation on the bottom and back keeps me from sweating.
Will be buying a few more in the future.

I own three of these - one an earlier offering in which the locks were totally different but everything else was the exact same.
This is a sturdy chair. People jockey for a chance to sit in it when I am away whether at a bonfire, car show or sporting event. I have had to ask people to vacate my chair upon my return more times than I can count.

When first received one locking pin was blocked by a leg of the chair. After much prying and pulling we were able to unlock it. Now we just use the other locking pin after folding the chair. It performed the function of supporting us well once unfolded and locked in place.
But it is also very heavy. The locking pin problem keeps us from buying a second chair of this configuration. Either the design is bad or the construction of our chair was bad.

I kept back one star because the locking pin on one side doesn't fit between the leg and the hole it is supposed to go into when folded and locked. They aren't being transported often so this isn't a huge issue for us. Plus, if you are putting it in the bag then locking it in place isn't needed. The stuff sack is roomy, easy to put the chair in and with a mesh section so it can air out even when stored. It's a roomy seat without being too big. I'm 5'4" and about 133lbs, it could easily accommodate a larger person. I am still getting used to the pocket on the side for your beverage instead of the usual holder in the arm rest.
All in all a really good chair. Sturdy and seems to be well made to stand up to years of use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DPage Good comfort/quality setup/break down a bit tricky
Was looking for a combination "car" camping chair and some comfort while watching my daughters soccer games. I'm 6' 4" 240 lbs. and I wanted something that was no so low to the ground, that I could get in and out of easily. This chair fit what I was looking for and... pretty good comfort! A few small negatives, when setting up, the red pins that lock the chair into sitting position at the back, it's difficult to locate the "locking hole" on the inside of back leg. I might suggest they place an arrow or some other identifier that can be visually seen to line up the "locking pins" to the accommodating holes. Also, (not to nit pick) The beverage holder that hangs off the side could be a little deeper, good enough for a 12 ounce can, but a bottle sags off to the side when in there. Otherwise, pretty good chair, just needs a few small design improvements...

The chair could not be set up. .Seat material was cut to tight and would not allow the locks to work. Over all seemed to be very cheaply made. I have had one like this for several years and it is much heavier and better made. Just worn out now after 4 years of use at grandsons baseball games.
