I wanted to purchase these at the beginning of the season, after reading the first reviewer's review. But, by the time I got around to it, they were sold out in my size, which is 0.
I needed new narrow white jeans. I looked around at some of the made in America brands, which of course are 2-3x the price of the Signature jeans. I read all the online reviews of those. I decided to purchase the Signature jeans when they became available again in my size. I bought the last pair in 0!!. White jeans are difficult. If they are too lightweight, and too tight, the pockets show through. If they are too tight the knees bump out. If they are too loose or bag out in the seat after wearing they are extremely unflattering. Also the rise is important--too low, or too high and they are equally unflattering. These are just right. They are moderately low.
I put these on and wore them all day doing many activities, which required sitting in a car, walking my dogs, performing light duties around the house, bending and lifting. The jeans held their shape. They are a medium weight denim, have just enough stretch and are an optical white. Yes, they are made in China. But, if they were made stateside they would cost $150+.
I think Bean did a great job on these jeans. Also, for some reason they brought the prices down considerably on all their Signature jeans. This is not a markdown, rather a price change. Of course, there is a type of snobbery where one might think if the price is so low how could they be good?
Trust me, these jeans have no price tag on them. You can accessorize as you wish, and at any price point. No one will be the wiser.
For information purposes. I am a smidge under 5'4". I weigh 99 pounds. I am about 31.5" -24"- 33.5 or 34" in the hip. There is no gaping in the waist as with many jeans. The crotch is perfect. Whereas they are not a skinny skinny, they are definitely narrow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnimalPoet Got a second color!
I am 5'3" tall. My weight fluctuates between 96 and 100 lbs (In earlier reviews I wrote a slightly higher figure, but I just noticed that I'm fluctuating a few pounds lower, which does not change my size, just makes the fit easier!) I wear 0 petite in Bean signature straight jeans and 2 petite in Bean Signature skinnies. Both 0 and 2 are my sizes, depending on type and manufacturer of jeans. I bought my first pair of these ankle jeans in the denim washed, size 2 - my review is here. Then I ordered mineral red in size 0! Just as I predicted, size 0 is a somewhat slimmer fit but is still very comfy. The lines of both sizes are flattering. The size 2s zip up easily; for the size Os, I have to inhale slightly, but then they "give" so I look and feel fine!!! As for the mineral red color, I was surprised: I did not expect to love it as much as I did. It's wonderful! A just-right "faded" "sunwashed" look! A very jeans-y look. A subtle, washed red. If you love washed colors as I do, you will love this hue, These ankle jeans look fabulous with the Saturday Tees, the polo and the henley versions, too. I am lucky to have them from more than one year, so I have many possibilities. The jeans are great, too, with the Seaspray hoodie over a tank or tee. Again, I have a bunch of Seaspray hoodies, so I am in luck. If you are in between two sizes, the larger size will give you a comfy, slender, but not skinny fit. The smaller of the two sizes will make the fit leaner. Do not size up.. These are true to size. Remember that both of the sizes I ordered are my regular sizes -- each just fits me somewhat differently.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnimalPoet Love these! Wish there were more denim-blue washes
5'3" Weight fluctuates between 99 and 104 lbs. I wear 2 petite in the Bean Signature skinnies and 0 in the Bean Signature straight-leg. I got the washed rinse in 2. They are slightly longer on me than a true ankle jean -- but this is good -- just what I wanted. The fit is wonderful -- they are flattering and comfy. The legs are not as slim through the thigh as I expected, but the look is flattering and the all-over line of the jeans is excellent. I could wear them in 0 and obtain a more fitted look. Both would be great. Now, if these magically appear in an additional denim-blue rinse, I will get another pair. I would have to say, since 0 or 2 is my jeans size -- depending on style and manufacturer -- that these are true to size. If you hover between two sizes, as I do, know that the smaller size will give you a slimmer leg, with a bit more stomach suck-in to zip them up -- and the larger size will give you a slim-straightish leg that is easy-peasy to close. I recommend these jeans. I will by size 0 as soon as an additional blue wash appears. Bean?? Anyone out there? Ha!
