I really love the touch of red on this vest. Edgy and classic with a black cashmere turtleneck, black slim fit pants and dressy black boots. I did size down. I usually wear a PXL in LL Bean vests but bought the Regular Large and love it. Love the extra length in the back too. Thanks, LL Bean! This one's a keeper!

I have a collection of down vests.(7) This is my 2nd from LLBean it is my new fav. It's not as puffy / life jackety as others I have but it's still plenty warm. Yes, the arm holes are on the big side, but just wear it. It's not noticeable while you are warm and happy wearing it ! My only complaint is that it is a little short for me. I have a long torso and would like the vest to be longer than my shirts. LLBean NEEDS Tall sizing. I have worn this over the Down Sweater, it is a warm not bulky combo. It does run a little big. All my LLBean down is in small (sweater, lightweight 850 coat) but I bought this in a XS.

Absolutely love this vest. Fit is perfect and feels virtually weightless. Love the lime color! This will be my go to layer for warmth. Packs down into a small package for travel.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Surferchic I wanted to love this vest SO BAD!
I fell in love with this vest as soon as I pulled it out of the bag. The unfortunate part is, the Large was WAY too big for a Large and the Medium fit just a bit to small. There's ALOT of difference between the medium and the large. In the large I had enough room to be 9 months pregnant in. The medium I could barely zip. It's too bad because this really is the perfect vest! I loved it, but, had to return both sizes. I was also a fan of the larger armholes. Would have been comfy with a thick sweater. Better luck next time I guess.

I never write reviews, but I had to for this one. I started with the black about 2 months ago, and have reached for it so many times I felt I needed to switch up the colors. I just ordered my 3rd color, in red, and the gray is currently in transit to me. This vest looks sleek, stylish, and athletic. It keeps me perfectly warm but not overly hot and allows my arms great mobility. What's more, my pea coats fit over it, giving me extra warmth on bitter cold days. I simply love it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DocMcStuffins Amazing product
I purchased this two days ago and its here already...I cant believe the turn around. I purchased the yellow/ green one, it is beautiful, bright and warm ( just used it in the cold rain,,,,amazing) . It fits over a sweatshirt and I really cant say enough about this vest. The pockets are large and warm with a fuzzy warm interior and there is an inside left breast pocket which fits a lot (I don't like using a handbag when I don't have to for safety reasons). I wish it came in a pink or other bright colors, I would get more. Just buy it...you wont be sorry. ;-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by JClvr BEST Down Vest!
Everyone was mentioning how the arm holes are big, not on mine! They are perfect!! I hate any kind of tightness in any clothing in my armpits anyway, too confining and constricting, and often times, have to go up a size (in any clothing) just to avoid that. The arm holes on this vest are not the least bit too large for me. I have other down vests from other stores and the arm holes are not any different. If anything, they might be SLIGHTLY bigger on this vest, but, for me, that only adds to the comfort and still keeps all the heat in because there is no gapping. And I tried it on (and plan to wear it) with just a plain cotton long-sleeve T-shirt. In fact, this is 1 of the best-fitting down vests I've tried (and I've tried many and own several). My arms are not huge either. I am 5' 4", 117 lbs., 34A and very evenly proportioned through-out with small to average size arms for my build. The waist-shaping design takes it away from being bulky or boxy to making it completely shapely and flattering! I got the size Misses XS. The fit is perfect, feels tailor-made! It is SO comfortable and lightweight too!! I highly recommend this vest!

Rated 4 out of 5 by westcoastnative Nice vest but the armoles are huge!
After reading the reviews and talking to a customer service representative I choose the petite medium in sea holly. The petite is slighty fitted which fits nicely(I'm 5'5" and normally wear a size regular medium). However the armholes are large! Overall the vest is stylish, lightweight and it keeps me warm on mild New England days. Plus the seaholly color is a pretty shade of green. I suggest ordering a size smaller or the petite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Staarr Love this vest!
I almost didn't purchase this vest because of the reviews about the armholes. The armholes might be a little large but they are similar to other vests I have worn. This vest is a perfect weight for outdoor sports and mild winter weather. The fabric is nice and the color (lime green) is pretty. It has a nice shape, not boxy like some vests.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ocean Huge Armholes!
The Scrunch Down Vest arrived today, and I cannot believe LLBean would offer an outerwear item with such huge armholes, how is that going to be warm?! Usually I wear a medium in any kind of jacket or coat, which allows for layers underneath. After reading other reviews about the huge armholes, I sized down to small, and the armholes are still much too big, even with layers underneath! If not for the much too large armholes, the vest seems like it would be warm, but it's not warm even inside, can't imagine wearing it outside in the current cold Northeast! I chose Blue Jay color, which is actually turquoise, and I like that part, but the inside color is a horrible yellow-green, not at all my taste. There are plenty of pockets, the collar folds way up for warmth, and the back is longer; all of which I really like, However, for the price, this vest is definitely not a keeper, thanks to the armholes.
