I found these shoes very comfortable and easy to break in. Went on some long walks and they did not cause my feet any pain. They feel very sturdy on my feet and look nice.

I loved these shoes when I first put them on..But two 4.5 mile walks later, the small toe on my right foot was blistered, and then bleeding profusely. What I found were rough edges, material loose on the inside of the shoe. The left foot was ok. I will be returning them, and have purchased another pair of boots from LL Bean.
Be sure to check the inside completely before you wear them.
I have had several pairs of Bean boots before, and have never run into this problem. Different manufacturer?

Purchased these shoes for a hike up Tumbledown! Wore them around for one day to break them in- then hiked with my students up the wet slippery Brook Trail of Tumbledown Mt. Awesome support- my feet were not the least bit sore- no slippage either! Great hiking shoes!

I've bought several pairs of the Pathfinders. They work well for summer hiking, but I've used them especially for hiking the John Muir Trail in CA. The wide width option is really important, but also the fact that they do NOT have a waterproof membrane. That allows better air flow in the shoe and less problems with blisters. They turn out to be so comfortable that I don't even rush to take them off at the end of the hike! Because I have plantar fasciitis, I also wear them as my around town shoe.
My only complaint is that the sole needs to be more aggressive for New England mountains. I would prefer a Vibram sole or something that sticks to rocks better.

These hiking shoes are perfect except they were a little too long. I normally wear a 9-1/2 in a LLBean shoes which is what I ordered but they were a little too long so I have exchanged them for a 9. I bought these hiking shoes on the recommendation of my son's experience with LLBean hiking shoes. He has had his, although a different style, for many years and has hiked many, many miles in them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by dressinlayers Overall decent shoes
These shoes are flexible and have a fairly good amount of cushioning. They feel more like walking shoes than hiking shoes. Overall they are pretty comfortable except there's really not much arch support. Fortunately the fit is roomy enough to accommodate a different insole.

Loved the look of the shoe in the catalog, not when I received it. The shoe was sized like a men's size.

I loved the physical appearance, but there was a seam right over the widest part of my foot!? seamless sides work best for me.

Bought these shoes for a planned walking tour, and think they will be just right. The shoes are comfortable and offer some support, without being as stiff as hiking shoes. Gave the shoes four stars instead of five because of little arch support.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MyDogReilly Lightweight, good arch support, comfortable
I've been looking for a sneaker-like shoe to wear on vacation this summer. I did not want a white sneaker, I need arch support, and the shoe has to come in wide width. Everything I had found up to this point were too heavy on my feet for summertime use. Then I saw these pathfinder ventilated hiking shoes. They meet all my requirements, they look good, and they're so comfortable. Thanks L.L.Bean!
