Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveLBean Much Loved in Many Countries
I have bought one of these for my exchange students from Denmark, Germany and Italy and will buy one for a boy from Egypt. They are a light layer that keeps them warm. Perfect for skiing or wearing during the in-between seasons. The zip pocket is a nice plus! Another wonderful product that has been loved in many countries!

I was not looking for another fleece pullover but was shopping in Freeport for coats and needed something to put on under the coats I was trying. On the table beside the coats were these fitness fleece pullovers and so i grabbed one. Well, it was a case of instant love. I bought it (did not buy a coat after all) and have had it all fall. It is a little lighter material than my old heavy fleece pullovers, but it is absolutely perfect for fall days and (so far) early winter days and nights. it is wonderful against the skin and is warm. But the thing I really like about it is that it is good looking. I don't mind wearing this if guests are around, whereas I never wore my older fleece pullover since it looked so informal. this is sharp looking and although does not have the wind shield resistance that other LL Bean fleece products do, it is a great addition to my wardrobe. One thing too keep in mind. the sleeves are very long (which I love because I like sleeves that come down to the base of my thumb) I am 6'3" and 190 and usually take a Tall XL, but a Reg XL fits me perfect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Edric Cut is not what it was originally
I own 4 of these in the original style ("old") and then one in the first revised style. I loved the originals, but the revised style, which is similar to this 2nd revised style now being sold except for fabric weight, I am not happy with. In fact, I never wear it, yet still wear the other 4 all the time which are in the 5 plus years age now. Here's why: The new fabric, while less prone to pilling on the inside, sticks to every shirt I pull it over and that requires adjusting and readjusting, plus difficult to get off and on. These are athletic styles, so supposed to fit snug. Clingy fabric is a problem. The old ones go on and come off easy and as far as I can tell never pilled on the exterior - maybe a little on the inside. The new style has longer sleeves, a shorter cuff, and the way it is sown at the shoulder creates a bagging, sagging, unnatural look. It also feels strange when I lift my arms, pulling the body of the unit up. I do not believe humans suddenly grew longer arms or fatter under arms. The original style had wider cuff that fit snug at the wrist, was roughly an inch shorter which was perfect, and was sown very different at the shoulder. The shoulder on the new one uses a straight long angular stich, while the old one used multiple shorter stitching at different angles to attach the sleeve to the main body - huge difference. Another, but minor point, the old one had sown on labels, this one has labels printed onto the fabric - is that why the fabric is clingy to make the ink stick? I rated the old ones 5 stars, the revised ones only 2.

I buy a lot of fitness gear and I was happily surprised to get this shirt as a gift, though not at first. Over time I found myself wearing it more and more, chiefly because of the light weight. But it's just too big in the hem and sleeves and a lot of your customers agree with me. Fleece means keeping warm, and in exercise you want it tighter anyway. Since America is so overweight, YOU NEED A TRIM FIT in this shirt. Or just narrower or elastic in the hem and sleeves.

Rated 3 out of 5 by mad4patch Fitness Fleece is PILLING...
The passform and fitting are really really good. Arms are long and my tall slim friend feels very confortable in this jacket.
... he wears it during winter (jan-march 2o13) sometimes during the sommer and again since a few days.
The collar is pilling inside and outside
The front left side (belt of trousers) is pilling awfully and the back left side where the pants sits.
I am very astounisched because I am an "old" LLbean customer and I never had or heard about pilling fleeces here.
BUT THEY DO PILL
however, the pattern and fitting are so good that I will order another one for him. He is also very please with the gomfy comfort and warmth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MrMike2u Fabric changed for the worse
What they did not mention is that this year's new improved fabric is no longer soft, fluffy fleece on the inside, which had always been the main attraction for me. Now it's smooth and slick inside, like nylon or acetate. The fit is also a little tighter than before. I have purchased many of these over the years and they have always been among my favorite clothes, but not this one. I don't know why on earth you would make such a dramatic change to one of your most popular items. Extremely disappointing.

Rated 3 out of 5 by rodi53 Sleeves are Long
This fleece seems well made, but as others have said the sleeves are too long. I wear a large and I have to roll up the sleeves or they almost cover my hands. Otherwise, it seems well made and should do OK alone in 50 degree weather or as a mid-layer in colder weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LoveLBean Perfect Layer
I have hosted exchange students from Denmark and Germany and both boys received these as gifts. They found this to be the perfect layer during the in-between seasons or as a layer while skiing. I am now hosting a boy from Italy and Egypt. Guess what their birthday gifts are? The only big decision is the color!

This is a great item and a huge improvement over the previous fitness fleece. The fabric has a great quality feel and an excellent weight. The fit is excellent also in a medium with a 42 chest.

This is perfect for spring. My husband is 6 foot, lanky, and he got an extra large tall and it fit fine as far as length in the waist but the sleeves are way too long. Just ordered another one in regular extra large, hopefully it wont be too short waisted.
