After spending a few nights in AT over-crowded shelters, surrounded by grunting, snoring and smelly men, I decided that I needed a tent. Bought this one after a lot of research. Used it, and what a relief! I'm 5'4" so I fit in it fine, along with my gear. It is easy to erect and to take down. The inside pocket is handy for glasses and flashlight. The first time I used it was on the AT in MD, where a neighborhood party at the shelter lasted until 3 AM. Couldn't wait to leave in the morning! The tent obliged by practically packing itself. I exaggerate, but seriously, it is that easy to disassemble. Have not used it in rain, but hope to pretty soon. I am not the strongest person at the gym by a long shot, but carrying it on long hikes was no problem. For a ground cloth I used an old shower curtain, cut down.

I love this tent. I am 6' 4" and this is the only 1-person I've ever fit in (I don't fit in many 2-persons). Set-up is a snap as is take down. The sack has extra room so you don't have to be perfect when rushing to pack-up in the rain or in 80 mph sleet. I love that the tent, fly, and footprint can be set up in any order. I have practiced, though never needed, setting up the rain fly first, crawling in, and setting up everything else while staying dry. The vestibule is the right size to shield your bag while leaving enough room to cook or to roll over and relieve yourself out the door.
My only complaints are that there really should be more mesh pockets (only one very very small one) and that it is pretty heavy for its size (compared to other 1-persons).
Overall I am definitely getting my money's worth. This tent has kept me sheltered in the worst New England has to offer (80 mph on Mt. Washington in Winter) and I will be taking it with me to Yosemite this New Years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LAEJ Great little backpacking tent
Easy to set up, light and snug. I am not a big person so it fit just right. Brought on a backpack to the White Mts, did not experience any rain but there was significant morning dew and I was quite dry. A good 3 season tent.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Backpackergal Tent is Great
I bought this tent because I did not have a freestanding solo tent. I am sold on this tent now. I set it up in my backyard during a recent summer monsoon storm with wind and rain and it stayed bone dry inside. Bought the footprint because I backpack in the Grand Canyon often where the ground is rocky. Glad I did because the bottom of the tent seems thin. The tent would probably hold up fine because of the durable fabric, but it will protect my investment. The tent is light and packs up very small. Reason for four stars is because the stakes are heavy. Minor nitpick, but important when every ounce counts.

This tent is amazing. the poles are light and short, good for small packing, like in a bike saddlebag.
But it's very very small. I am only 5'7" and it seemed too small. I only had a daybag style backpack and it fit pretty well at my feet, but still the tent was too small.
Maybe I am a little claustrophobic!
The height is also short, making it hard to dress without touching the walls, and in the morning the condensation inside the fly comes right through the mesh tent walls if you even brush against them. You cannot sit up.
Good for petites?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Catblue Durable, Easy set up!!
I purchased the tent for myself to camp alone. I am a 65 yr old woman. It was extremely easy for me to set up and take down. It rained a bit in the night, but all was dry inside. I liked the pocket inside for my glasses, phone and Kindle. The vestibule held my shoes, a small cooler and my little camp fan! Inside is a one person only fit, but there is head room to sit up. Perfect little tent to carry, and pop up quick... Love it.
The fabric dried quickly, poles were sturdy..I believe the tent would hold up in some major wind with the guy lines.
Going camping again tomorrow!

Excellent tent for backpacking solo in the backcountry. The weight was nothing to carry and it sets up easily, even after a long day of hiking.

I love this tent! I do a lot of solo camping and it is wonderful. You can set it up and take it down in less than five minutes. It is super light and just perfect for one person. This is the best tent that I have ever owned. I love it and highly recommend it.

I will be using this tent this Friday, Saturday & Sunday on a motorcycle trip. I cannot write an accurate review yet but what I can say is that I assembled it in my backyard and it was simple. Very well made, small enough to fit in my motorcycle saddle bag.

I have finally used my microlight FS 1 tent. Took a one night hike told my boyfriend that I would like to use my own tent to see how it works out. Was surprised at the easy set up and the tent worked well giving me plenty of room. My pack fit easy under the vestibule that opens and on the non opening side I could stake it out to hold wet shoes, and other bags not needed till morning. My exped sleep mat fit prefect, making me comfortable for the night. Plus the interior hanger held my glasses so I knew exactly where they were. Great tent, light weight, comfortable, easy set up and tear down. The only thing I would change is the opening zipper doesn't unzip at the bottom but I can live with this. Thank You LLbean for the awesome product.
