I had to return these boots after a few years of wearing them becuase they started to leak. I loved these boots they're incredible but these new ones are even better. More comfortable and warmer. Not to mention the fact LL Bean's costumer service is amazing and they stand behind their products! No questions asked and made sure i got a new pair!

Rated 4 out of 5áby RandyGA Super comfortable
I ordered a size up, and the fit was super loose. I added the shearling insoles and now its just right. Well made, I like the shearling since its warm and breathable. Four stars because the leather is TOO soft, no support at all. It sort of balloons out at the ankle. Also, I don't like the roll down feature, only 1 inch of the tongue has leather so mud and snow and stuff can get in.

Rated 5 out of 5áby TONY35 GOOD BOOTS I RECOMMEND
my regular size is 81/2 but I buy number 8m and I'm a little big, my recommendation is if someone uses 81 / 2m I recommend you buy 7m size, because these boots are very large sizes in these boots buy always one number less or 1/12m. Less than size

Extremely well made. Warm and perfect for this year's winter in the Northeast. Defintely order 1 size smaller than your normal shoe size.

Rated 5 out of 5áby RickyShaw Amazing boots, kept me warm.
Super comfortable, I have bad circulation in my feet and they are always the first to get cold. These boots kept me warm even walking around in -10 degree weather. The customer service is the cherry on top.

I wear a size 10 dress shoe and a size 11 running shoe, so my order of a 10 seemed right. The boot felt large in dress socks, but after wearing it around the office for a few days, it felt normal to be less snug than my loafers. After several weeks of Chicago weather, I couldn't be happier.
American made with a lifetime guarantee for $200 can't be beat.

Rated 3 out of 5áby ElecRazor Not what I Expected
I have always wanted to purchase an LL Bean Boot of the kind I'm reviewing, but the price always prevented me from doing so. I read most of the reviews and finally decided to purchase. Unfortunately, I did not get what I expected as it relates to warmth. I cannot believe that I walked 6 blocks to the subway station in 20 degree temperature with about an inch of snow on the ground and my feet were cold. I could understand if I had been working outdoors or walking a long distance. The boot is waterproof and very comfortable but do not meet my expectations for warmth. I will be returning them and order the Thinsulate lined 8" boot. The ones I purchased were Shearling Lined.

Rated 5 out of 5áby sheri11x17 Great boots! (But they do run large)
I bought these boots for my fiancÚ for our trip to Boston. He's a US 10 usually but after ready all the reviews, I decided to buy a size down. Some said buy 2 sizes down depending on the type of sock you wore...and I can say that is very true. They arrived right on time. The boots were a hit! He wore them the whole time in Boston with medium thick socks. All in all, I'm really glad I bought them...it's worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5áby ColoradanMainer Fantastic all-around boot
After becoming a frequent borrower of my father's old Maine Hunting Shoes and wanting a pair of my own for college out west, I finally settled on ordering these in light of the backorders. Since then, I have put them through a lot, and I am immensely pleased with how well they have held up.
First off, the lining is FANTASTIC. It's softer and warmer than the lining of any boot I have ever owned. It does tend to hug your feet rather well, so this should be taken into consideration if you intend to wear thick socks, or if you prefer a cushion of air around your foot. I normally wear a 9 shoe and have wide feet, but I found a size 9.5 with Medium D width fit me fine.
The exterior leather feels light, soft and malleable (to the point where I almost fear that the stiff laces will scuff or mark the leather), but the material is actually very resilient, and I have trudged through many a snowbank and remained completely dry. I may eventually get them waxed or treated just to protect the leather, but I have not had any problems so far.
I have worn these boots for hiking, snowshoeing, and driving all over the state of Colorado. In addition, I frequently choose these for comfortably warming up after a day of skiing, walking across campus and working in a theatre with lighting and construction equipment. In every instance, these boots have pulled through with flying colors through their durability and comfort. I've worn them comfortably in icy and snowy conditions as low as 5 degrees when paired with wool socks and liners, and as a result these are my go-to boots for adverse conditions.
At the same time, I have worn these boots in warm interior spaces without any discomfort. I look forward to wearing these well into the spring, when things get warmer. These boots also look very good - although I use them for work and fitness, I could also wear them as dressier boots if I wanted to. This versatility is, in my opinion, one of the best features of this boot. As a result, if you are looking for a pair of well-made boots that can serve any function you'd need them for, I would certainly recommend these. I look forward to many, many years well-spent with these boots, either out west or back on the east coast.
May be too warm for all-season wear (obviously)
May not be as rough-and-tumble as other boots
