Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmmmmmm Some like it Hot hot hot
This jacket is just what I've been looking for to battle the Ohio winter cold. Even though it hasn't been as cold as it was last year, there were a few days cold enough to test it and I had to unzip it in the car because I was too hot. This jacket fits true to size. If you wear medium shirts, get a medium in this jacket.

One of the best jackets I have ever purchased. I do a lot of walking outside and even on the coldest of days I'm always warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beanboyfromindy Fit and warmth match it's great looks.
I bought this because of the way it looked. I'm happy to report that it is warm and well made, too. I just went out in 38deg weather in a cotton undershirt and a cotton long sleeve t-shirt and was perfectly fine. I get the impression that it would keep me warm well below that, too. I can also report that I've worn it indoors and in the car where it was around 60deg and was not hot at all. I was surprised how supple the outer fabric was; has some bulk but still "silky". Pockets are big and comfy. As happy with the functionality of this coat as I am with it's look. Very satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bonmax So light and warm
I just love how light the jacket is. It feels like a wind beaker. Also I was out in heavy wind the other day and none came through the jacket and I only had a t-shirt on under it. That day it was in the lower 40? range.

I did looked for down jacket that is not so expensive and good for weekend light activity but different from other outlet like item.
This jacket is 100% fit for my requirement.

Rated 4 out of 5 Good Looker but could be a bit thicker
The jacket has excellent and I love the choice of color. The pockets are well placed and I like the one with the magnetic flap. I have worn this jacket nearly every day at college during the winter and it has kept me sufficiently warm. The only thing that could be improved is the fill of the jacket. I felt as though in some places the down was a bit thin

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gr8saboo Warm but not bulky
We have had extremely cold weather this winter in Michigan . My leather jacket or my quilted vest previously did the job. I ordered this coat as it appeared less bulky and also not the type of fabric that snags. It met my expectations on both counts , it is very warm and the material on the exterior is almost like a fine denim

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vermonter73 Warm, looks great, fits great
Really happy with this jacket, the medium is a perfect fit for me (5'8"/170), the Heather/Peat Moss color is neutral and pretty much goes with anything. Perfect for around town everyday wear, but the lack of ventilation and real technical waterproofing would have me question it's suitability for very athletic use. Also, the thicker fabric and pockets definitely affects it's packability, but that's not what I bought it for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MiscShopper Great Jacket
Great light weight but warm jacket. Haven't tested it below 15 degrees with a strong northeastern wind, but so far so good. Purchased a large, but I think the sleeves are a little long. Very comfortable all around, I like this jacket, outer material seems quite durable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BeansRegular Great and affordable Down Jacket
I purchased this for my adult son (6'3", 170lb) for Christmas and here is his feedback:
"The large tall fits well in the shoulders, but has a bit too much room in the waist area, but this is easily brought in by the cinches on each side of the waist without creating a balloon look. Large tall is my regular size on LLBean, so I would say that it runs true to size. I have it in the Peat Moss, which is quite different from the online picture--it is a more olive green color, more attractive than the dull brown shown online.
The construction is excellent with a tough but flexible fabric outside and a soft quilted lining. The abrasion resistant fabric on the back yoke, front shoulders, and down the left front blends in well colorwise and has both a vertical (access to music) and horizontal (under magnetic closed flap) pockets, which are both deep and secure. The front handwarmer pockets also zip, are real roomy and provide good security.
The jacket has been warm in zero degress and up with a light fleece layer underneath and mild activity (walking), and does repel light rain and snow. The collar is soft lined and not too tight or too loose on the neck, with a zipper garage for protection. I have not yet used this jacket for downhill skiing, but I do plan to do so soon. It definitely is a great everyday and going out jacket.
I would love to see a slightly more tapered fit (waist)--would it be possible to make some of your outdoor styles in a trimmer, more athletic fit for those of us who are slim? Thanks."
