Rated 5 out of 5 by Bean81 Great Tent!!
I just ordered the L.L.Bean mountain light 2 person tent. It arrived at my door 3 days after I ordered it which I think is very quick. I have yet to use this tent on an actual camping trip, but I am very excited to. I set the tent up outside my condo to make sure it had all its parts and was easy to assemble. It was very windy and I was able to set the tent up by myself quite easily. While I was setting up the tent it started to rain lightly. I was able to get the rain fly on and save it from getting to wet. It dried extremely quick and I was able to pack it all back into the stuff sack that it came in. Its a supper light weight, so it will be great for backpacking trips. The two vestibules on either side provide great dry storage. I really like this tent and cant wait to use it very soon.

My wife and I never expected our winter travels to the South West that it would be for 6 full months, or to spend almost all of the time in what we thought was a modest tent. But it was fabulous. Not a single failure dispite take down and set up, harsh weather, rough terranin and downpours. Not a drop of water ever got by it. I would not know how to fault this tent. It was minimum size for 2 and a dog but hey, the diimentions are the dimentions and we have grown very found of this little tent. Thanks LLBean

This is your basic 2 person tent, easy to set up with hooks over shock cords poles, no fabric tubes to slide poles through.
I haven't used it in the rain yet but since the fly comes all the way down all around, I don't foresee any problems.
My only suggestion for Bean, and this goes for other Bean tents, is to center the little toggle and loop thing that holds rolled up doors out of the way. As it is, the toggle/elastic loop is about 1/3 of the way along the rolled up door and the other 2/3 of the roll flops down because it's not attached up.

I ordered this because of the great reviews. Returned it because it won't last long term: bathtub bottom is OK but all the top is mesh, no tafeta to add stability to seams. No tafeta on doors to give some privacy. New design 'spider' poles would be a nightmare if trying to set this tent up quickly before dark. I bought a Eureka Taron instead, much better tent. Disappointed that LLBean does not carry the Taron.
