Wow! This is what yachting is all about. The wind, the spray of water in your face , and the SHOES!!!
I may never wear socks again. Canvas, not the same used for painting. Soft. Priced affordable.
I didn't see the the actual deck shoe I got the lace-up. Now I'll have to buy the 2-eyed ones too.
And I don't have a yacht or a boat. One day. Nice. Thanks LL Bean.

I have to agree w/ others here about blisters to my Achilles while wearing these. I thought it was strange when it happened the first time I wore them and thought it had to do w/ not being broken in. I wore them a second time and same problem. I bought these a year ago and have only wore them twice b/c I do not like blisters on my feet. Just happened to catch others reviews about the same problems so I am at least glad to know it's not me. Probably will return.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CommuterCyclist Durable, comfortable, all-purpose summer shoe
I commute to work by bicycle and don't want to have to lug another pair of shoes around. These boat shoes are nice enough for our casual office and light weight so I can ride in them. The flexible sole is very good for my feet; I suffer from plantar fasciitis when I use stiff-soled shoes. I love the simple, clean appearance and construction. They are extremely comfortable and well suited to our hot climate. I wear them every day, even hike over rough ground, wading through streams, etc. I have gone through similar shoes made by other major brands and they often fall apart after 6 months. These shoes have lasted twice as long. I have purchased 3 pairs so far and am ordering another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AHMike Excellent sneakers.
I purchased a pair of these in blue, and then I bought a second pair in olive when they went on sale. I have found them to have great comfort and support, and I experienced no problems with the heels as some other reviewers have. I walk a lot (more the 100k steps per week), and I have worn these all day many times in total comfort. I also appreciate that these shows are very light, especially when I am on my feet most of the day.

I gotta agree with those that said the deck shoes hurt the back of their foot....I read these reviews before buying....and although I live very close to the Freeport store....I elected to take advantage on the free shipping....I wore these to Boston hoping to have no issues (and no back up pair with me)....Boston is a great city to walk....BUT not in these shoes....like the others with issues....I too had issues....I had to stop at a drug store to get band aids to stop the bleeding and hopefully add a bit of comfort....I will return these to Beans....very disappointed....

Rated 5 out of 5 by gordon42 Normal sized fitting forget other reviews
Shoe has a Normal fit.
9 1/2 men's would fit like a 10 narrow B .
Its a better to go a little under sized. Toe is roomy.
The shoe is a little longer so you can go down one size if your foot is narrow. The heel is nice fit.
I use to work in shoe sales this shoes fits normal.

so disappointed.... received today, but within a few minutes of walking in them, back started biting into Achilles heel! Not a good shoe if you want yours in one piece at the end of the day.
Going back immediately. Enjoyed my other shoes from LLB, but not these. Wish the comfort mocs came in more colors. Wore those all over Korea- glad I didn't have these over there!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FurryLewis Well-made and comfortable
These have been my daily-wear shoes for 8 months now. There are no holes, no sign of them wearing out or falling apart, where other name brand, similar-type deck shoes have been in very poor condition after this amount of use. They look nice enough for 'dress casual but nice' events, yet are great for the beach or everyday use. They're also easy on and off, with enough lacing to hold them on snugly, yet easy and quick to put on without having to loosen a long line of laces, such as with hiking shoes.
The comfort is excellent for me #no 'heel' problems that some mentioned#. I can sometimes wear a men's 10.5 if it comes in a wide width, but normally wear 11, and these fit fine in the 11 wide size. They're comfortable both for walking and for just leaving your shoes on while seated #I'm usually the first one to take my shoes off when sitting down, but these are pretty comfortable to leave on...nevertheless, I'm glad these are so easy-off-and-on#.
I'm really stoked to have found these shoes. Years ago, friends and I were big fans of the deck shoes that were popular with surfers and boaters, but for many years I was unable to find anything that was as comfortable and lasted anywhere near as long as those did. It appears that LL Bean's are every bit as good as the ones we used to get, if not better.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Retirednottired Uncomfortable and squeaky
They looked like the right shoe for me, but the original pair and the exchange pair put a lot of pressure on the Achilles tendon. The first pair was the right size, but they squeaked loudly. The exchange pair squeaked too, and was about a half size larger than the first pair even though they were labeled the same size. I requested a refund.

These are nice looking shoes and seemingly good quality, except for one major flaw. As some other reviewers have noted, the back of the shoe is too high and it rubbed against the back of my heel. Mine started to hurt after about 20 minutes of wearing, and by the time I limped home, it was bleeding. Its still sore. So I sent them back. Too bad, because I liked them otherwise.
