In my opinion, the inseam of these shorts (8-1/2") is too short for cycling. I find the Cresta Hiking shorts to be a better length (10") for cycling, as I don't use a chamois liner, but they don't come in black. So if I want black LL Bean cycling shorts, this is the only way to go, but if I want them to be long enough, I go with the Cresta shorts.

Very good quality---Like that of reducing excess material.
Do not like the two buttons of attaching inner lining. I consider
it a pain and time consuming. I think four snaps would suffice--
one each side, front and back. With the buttons on each side,
the front and back collapse and makes it difficult to put your
Also, with the inner lining better attached, perhaps one could

I just bought a new Specialized Sirrus Pro Carbon and there's not much of a seat on the bike. I did a 19 mile ride yesterday and couldn't have done it without wearing these shorts. Comfortable, cool, padded - I liked them so much I bought a second pair.....

Shorts are OK but pockets are unusually shallow... anything you put in them will fall out when biking.

On long trips these shorts make the rider much more comfortable and the lining is removable .

These shorts are too bulky and heavy. They are basically a pair of bike shorts inside regular shorts. Not at all what I was expecting, and very impractical. I returned them without even trying them on.

These shorts are comfortable for riding or walking around and have good pockets. The largest one fits my iphone 6 no problem. The padded liner comes out which is nice as you can use it with other shorts or tights, now that it is cool.

I had been wearing a pair of Bean bike shorts for quite a few years. The short coming of them was the lack of secure pockets. I do not often think of Bean for biking wear, but after checking the local bike shops for something other than the spandex the younger bikers (I am a "senior") wear I found these. Been using them for several months and hundreds of miles.
The pluses far out weigh the few minor issues for these shorts.
Plus: The back and thigh zippered pockets. The thigh pocket is perfect for my i6 phone and the back secures my id--wallet, whatever.
The padding is superb.
The unzippered front pockets are good for extra items.
Minus: The teeny-tiny zippered pockets that compete for room in the front pockets. I'd need a tweezers or forceps to retrieve anything from them. In the next model take them out.
The loosely buttoned in padding always gave me fits when I left them buttoned to the outer shorts. Finally unbuttoned them and do the operation in two steps. Also can wear the padded insert with other shorts if so desired.
All my biking is on either paved trails or local roads with very light traffic. On the edge of the Twin City metro with great trails and ditto for local and county roads. >1000 miles/yr

Rated 4 out of 5 by jlmack Pretty good bike shorts
They are very comfortable. They fit well (size large for 38" waist), look good, and are holding up well, though I've only had them a short time and can't really judge their durability. The inner shorts work well and are removable. The only problems I've had at all are (1) the padding in the inner shorts seems a bit bulky, and (2) the shorts have almost caught a few times on my seat post clamp down. It might be that if they were just a bit tighter they wouldn't catch at all, but I do like it that they are not tight. Overall I'm quite happy with them and would buy them again, though I've inserted the caveat that I've not had them long enough to judge their durability.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PETRMOO Men's Comfort Cycling Shorts
Well made. I road 100 mile race recently, great comfort but... I am 280 pounds and normally wear size 38-40 waist products, I ordered the XL size. I had a little trouble making these shorts tight enough. The elastic strip and an ability to wear a belt helped me NOT "moon" other riders and spectators. These are definitely NOT tight like a club jersey or typical bike shorts. I will just modify the design for my personal needs. I expect years of use and I am really hard on clothing!
