I have these sheets in an old color combination. Blue and sage. And also in sage and bay. They are luxurious and soft. Here in So. California I use the sheet as a sheet in the winter and a light blanket in the summer. I wish they would bring back the blue/sage color combo. I was disappointed tonight that the red and black was out of stock in my sizes. I was going to stock up for next winter. They hold up very nicely to washing in my hard water. I line dry for a little while first because it gets all tangled otherwise, then toss in the dryer to soften. Just seeing the LL Bean tag on my sheets makes me sleep better!

I wrote earlier regarding my experience with the flannel sheets - the Bay Leaf Buffalo Plaid set I purchased are wonderful however the Blue Buffalo Plaid were a major disappointment. I am very pleased to report that Customer Service handled my concerns/complaint quickly and professionally. I returned the Blue Buffalo Plaid sheets and decided to order another set of the Bay Leaf Buffalo Plaid. The sheets arrived and as soon as I touched them I knew they were perfect. Soft and luxurious as I had come to expect.

I bought a set of these flannel sheets last winter and another set this winter. Love them! They are the perfect weight for a cold Pacific Northwest night. They don't pill up or get stiff with multiple washings. The colors were true to the photos in the catalog and on the internet. I will definately buy more. Thank you LLBean!

On a trip through Maine I stopped at L.L. Bean for the specific purpose of purchasing a Queen set of Bay Leaf/Natural Flannel Sheets, Buffalo Plaid. After numerous washings the sheet set has only improved with age; they are so very soft and are a true luxury in the winter. We look forward to getting into bed on a cold wintery night. This was such a positive experience I then ordered another Queen set in True Navy/Bay Blue Flannel Buffalo Plaid. When they arrived they did not feel as soft as the green set however I thought after a washing that would change. I washed the sheets before placing them on the bed. When they came out of the washer they were actually hard and stiff!! I dried them and instead of the softness I expected they were rough to the touch. I once again gave the product the benefit of the doubt as I have always been impressed with the quality of items from L.L. Bean. Unfortunately nothing has changed for the better; the sheets actually seem to be getting thinner and feel rougher to the touch. Not what I want on my guest room bed.
What happened with these sheets, why are they of such poor/inferior quality?

I purchased flannel sheets from llbean before and they are still soft and wonderful after years of use. I purchased these about a year ago and after a few washings they are now starting to pill and become rough. I am disappointed and wish they were more like my others that are still soft and free from pilling.
I don't know if it is because the flannel is thicker or quite what the difference is, but won't buy these again.

It was hard for me to give anything from LL Bean less than 5 stars:-( Last year, I bought the complete set of flannel sheets and was disappointed that the Queen Flat Sheet barely covered the sides of the top mattress. When my husband rolls over, taking the sheet with him, there's nothing left for me. So this year, I bought a King Flat Sheet only to find, upon making the bed, that the colors have changed. Last year's was a nice, sharp sage and white. This year's is bland bayleaf and pale green. But that's okay! Gave last year's sage Queen Flat Sheet to my daughter-in-law and ordering her a bayleaf Full Fitted Sheet so we'll both have unmatched beds! I've owned LLB's flannel sheets for many years and expect to have these just as long - even if they don't match!

These flannel sheet sets are of high quality, they fit deep 15" mattress well and have elastic on all sides. Even with adjustable bed frame the sheets stay in place and don't pop off. They are very soft and wash well. I ordered additional set and as shower gifts.

These sheets are wonderful! So soft and snuggly. I have had mine for several years and they are still great. Ample size. Still very easy to get on the mattress after much washing in hot water. I hate to put them away when summer comes!

As a long-time LLBean customer (30+ years) it never occurred to me that I would be disappointed by a purchase because of quality issues, no matter which price line I chose. This flannel is rather thin and lacking in the cloud-soft pile which I want in a flannel sheet. Reading the reviews it looks like I can expect pilling soon. I am still a dedicated LLBean customer, but not for these sheets.

LLBean has always meant quality to me, and I have enjoyed a variety of their products over the years. Bought these sheets with that same expectation. Out of the box they are lovely, beautiful bright colors, and nice soft feel. But within days of being on the bed the bottom sheet is pilling very badly. I am fairly disappointed in the quality.
