Rated 2 out of 5 by SeekerOfHighQuality Disappointed
I am very disappointed by the amount of pilling in these sheets after only a few months' use. The bottom sheet is so pilled that it feels like the bed is full of sand. I bought sheets with the same pattern a few years ago and they are holding up well, but these must be made of a poorer quality fiber. Sorry, L. L. Bean. You have done better in the past and I hope you do better by your customers in the future. Unfortunately I am returning these sheets.

I have two sets of these sheets and have been using them happily for the past six years. They are soft and strong and show little or no pilling. But I bought another set in the spring of 2013 and am very disappointed with them. They are pilling a great deal in the areas where they get the most wear, so much so that it felt like the bed was full of sand the last time I used them. Sadly I am planning to return these sheets because they are simply not comfortable to sleep in. I have trusted the LL Bean name for many years. Hopefully there will be a return to high quality in this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Feedaie Soft, durable and easy to wash
I bought these sheets more than 4 years ago and they are still in perfect shape. The flannel is still soft, no piling, the borders are still solid.
Warm in winter and confortable during summer.
I recomment this product to everybody.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lngtmshpr Satisfied! Most comfortable sheets ever
While some of the recent reviews are less than positive, I have been one hundred percent happy with these sheets (red ticking stripe). The fabric is incredible. Med-heavy weight flannel, soft but not nappy or pilled and very durable. I have been using these sheets year round with weekly Washings for nearly 10 years and they are still in great shape! I'm not even sure the color has faded, they seem to only improve with age. The only reason I ever bought more was for my son, and the quality now seems comparable to the older set. These may be a little pricy but they are truly worth it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by okPenny Excellent sheets
I can't understand the negative reviews re softness and pilling. These sheets are incredibly soft, more so w/ washing. I haven't experienced the pilling that others have. If anything, the color fades a bit and they become threadbare from softness. I'm sure water sources affect the wash result. I just replaced my flat queen sheet, which ripped, probably from my handling of it. It lasted years of weekly washings and they are our favorite sheets. Thanks, LLB!

Rated 3 out of 5 by WIShopper15 Still undecided...
We spent over $100 on this sheet set a few months ago and I'm still undecided. I LOVE the look of them and was very happy with how they match our bedroom. They are warm and fit our queen bed perfectly.
My hesitation is that they seemed to "pill" after three or four washes. We keep these sheets on our bed all winter and maybe they can't handle daily use but the fitted sheet did not live up to my expectations considering the price we paid.
I'd order sheets from LL Bean again... I think. I'm a little more hesitant that I was before.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cardsfan4vr Warm & Soft
These sheets are very warm and soft, but they do pill. I have pieces of lint all over the floor around the bed, even after washing them. HOWEVER, I still really like them so far. Only had them about a month, so cannot speak as to longevity, but am happy so far. And it's great being able to buy separately since we have a split king bed and it's hard to find sheets for that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by casey2001 soft and warm
I have been using these sheets for about 3 months. They have some pilling in the most heavily used areas, but I do toss a few times in the night. They are warm and a medium thinkness. Overall I like them and will probably get a few years of use from them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by unhappy79 received as a gift and immediately returned them
right out of the plastic bags these sheets were rough to the touch, I would not recommend anyone buy these sheets, I have several pairs of the regular solid flannel sheets they are absolutely fantastic, these sheets are terrible compared to them, I'm a long time customer and I have noticed over the last 5 or 6 years the quality of LLBean price has gone downhill big time, but yet they're still charging you the same prices they've always charged except now you're getting a lesser product, if it's not made in USA I would not recommend buying it, because I've noticed some of the LL Bean stuff is now made overseas and they're just not the same, not as good of quality they used to be

Rated 3 out of 5 by RleneML not as good as solid ultrasoft flannel sheets
I purchased solid color ultrasoft flannel sheets and thought they were the best flannel sheets I ever bought. So......why not get them in another color. Ordered these striped ultrasofts assuming they would be the same softness. Wrong! The striped sheets are not that soft and actually feel scratchy on my feet (the fitted sheet). Could tell there was a difference when I washed these; there was hardly any pilling or lint in my dryer lint catcher. With the solid color sheets, the lint catcher was full. So these stripes are not the same. Stick with the solids and you won't be disappointed.
