I followed the advice of many and bought an 8 1/2 when I usually wear a 7 1/2 or 8. They fit me well with cushy socks. I did not find them narrow, but I have average width feet. I have worn them for aerobics, tai chi and in the fitness center on the elliptical and tread mill. They are working out great providing support and comfort and saving wear and tear on my running shoes.

These shoes are perfect for Zumba! I highly recommend them. I did order a half size larger because of the previous reviews...they were very helpful and glad I read them.

I ordered these to replace an older pair of NB cross-trainers.
When I put them on, there was little or any room in the ball/toes area of the foot. The tag attached said something about "dance," which is not what I bought them for. I plan to return them to an LLBean store next week.

I wasted time and money buying shoes that were merely 1/2 a size bigger than usual. I returned them for a fit one full size larger. I never had problems buying shoes on line until now. Never again for New Balance.

even though slightly small, still very wearable - I spend > 8 hrs on my feet @ work(I'm 62 yo) and these are saving me!

Over the years I've learned that New Balance shoes are wider than most. That's why I buy them. I'm in a fitness class that meets in a church basement. We train on a concrete floor that has industrial carpeting. These trainers are springy and comfortable. They are great for walking as well. So far they've held up well.

Great shoe for Zumba or any other dance based cardio workout. They seem to run a little narrow so order at least half a side up.
