I bought these for my wife for skiing.
She has used them twice and is very happy with them and her toasty warm feet. You can control warmth by turning thermacell on or off as needed with the remote.
I took the liners out of her ski boot and removed the footpad that came with the ski boot.
I then inserted the thermacell heated innersoles into the liner, and they worked perfectly.
After a day skiing, you do need to pull the liner from the ski boot in order to remove the thermacell for charging.
My wife says they are very comfortable.
She wears a womens size 8. I ordered a medium and did not have to trim.
I'm happy that we can now ski, and my wife is not complaining about her cold feet anymore!!!

These heated insoles work exactly as promised; they warm my feet without getting hot and without making my feet sweaty. They kept my feet warm snow throwing, snow shoeing, and sitting in a very cold office.
Only two minor negatives. One is that you really cannot tell when they are one and the other is that they are difficult to fit in certain shoes/boots. The insoles have very little flexibility, making them difficult to insert into tall boots.

These heated insoles kept my feet warm in 11 degree weather for 4 hours! Of that 4 hours, I spent about 2 1/2 to 3 hours sitting on a chair with my feet in the snow. As the insert says, they are designed to keep your feet comfortable and around normal body temperature. They are not designed to get hot like disposable foot warming pads so your feet will not sweat. I was very nervous as to whether or not these would prevent my feet from getting cold as my feet are very sensitive to the cold and will go numb very quickly when exposed to the slightest cold weather. But these were fantastic and I would highly recommend this product. On the down side, they are thick and do not bend at all so I was not able to even get them into my pull on Sketcher boot. I had to wear my daughter's pull on Ugg boots which are wider at the ankle and in-step and are flat. There is no way you can wear this with a healed boot, a boot that fits snugly already, or one that slightly narrows around the ankle. I also tried it with the LL Bean classic lace up boot and thought it was too tight with the insole. It kept my feet warm but I had a hard time finding a boot that would accommodate the insole.

Rated 4 out of 5 Slightly Warm
I wore these insoles inside my winter boots for the first time today. The outside temperature was -22 celsius (-7F). The kept my feet from freezing, but I wouldn't call them "warm". I was outdoors for about two hours and my feet were not what I consider cold or unconfortable. However, I have my doubts that they would be warm enough if the temperature was down to -30 C or F.
The fit was fine inside my size 8 boots. I purchased the "large" size. They are quite stiff though making it hard to get them into these 8" high boots. I hope they will soften up with use. They would be unsuitable for dress boots but are fine for snow boots.

These inserts are a really good idea, but these are not there yet. They are much too thick unless you have a size and a half larger boot, but more importantly, they do not keep your feet warm in cold weather. The heat elements need to be closer to your toes. Thermacell is a good company, but don't buy these, you'll have cold feet one time and they will end up on a shelf.

bought for cycling - they are far to thick to fit in cycling shoes. can not get foot in with insoles in. likely would not fit in running shoes either.
