It always amazes me the inappropriate reasons that people tender bad reviews. Typical are what I read about these great boots. I am 61 years old, a hunter and you could say an outdoor person. Probably much more than most. I've owned many boots of varying price range and quality and I have to admit that these are the best boots I have had the pleasure of owning. Right out of the box they fit like they were made for me: size 11 Medium. No break-n needed. Now I admit, I now own three different Irish Setter boots, the Chuka's required extensive breaking in period but are 10 years old and still have another 10 to go. These 838's are warm, comfortable and they look good. These are quality made boots and you can see the detail that went into designing them. I cannot comment on the waterproof ability but will find that out this weekend although I expect no issues. Saying that I love these boots is not much of a testimonial to them but I will say that after all these years I wish i would have owned these long ago.

My son could not wait for Christmas and wore his new boots to school. He loves the style and said they were very comfortable.

These are quite simply the best boots that I've ever owned. it took me a few minutes to get used to the white soul but now that I know how well they break in and just how thick and tough they are I'll never own another type of boot.
My old pair of Vasquez Sundowners are officially retired.

Grat boots. Truly Waterproof. I have had them since last year and hunt with them one full season in Texas and a trip to Uruguay during winter. Slipery on marble floors.

I wore Irish Setters 50 years ago. These new boots are comfortable, fit well, and seem well made. I'll have to wait and see if they wear as well as they used to--it's still flip flop weather here!

These are a great looking pair of boots, in my opinion. They also have a decently comfortable foot-bed. With the steel shank, you notice the extra weight, but at this point, it should be 4 stars. Why only two? For a boot advertised for hunting and work, it has zero slip resistance on a wet surface. For me, even stepping in sprinkler run-off on a concrete sidewalk made these boots lose all grip. I find this unacceptable.
