Wonderful boot. Reliable and well worth the cost.

by HarbourDog Great boots but they didn't last?
Got a lined pair (no longer made) for Xmas in 2012. Snug fit, extremely well insulated, loved them. However, after wearing them occasionally for just 3 seasons (shovelling snow, fishing a few times, washing the cars, walking around the garden in the spring), they have started to split at the seams. I would have loved to just exchange them for a new pair but the new version are not lined, therefore probably not much use in the winter. So I'll return them for a refund, but would really have liked to get something equivalent from LLBean, but their stock of rubber boots is surprisingly limited.

I really like the boots. My previous pair from another company was always a struggle to put on and take off. I always had a tendency not to wear them for that reason. These are great--fit well in the ankle and easy to put on.

I have always just got the cheap boots that I can find in local stores. I will never do that again after buying these boots. They are very warm and the boots are completely waterproof. I am a size 14 foot and so I got 15. They fit with an amazing amount of room still. I have walked around in frozen water for long periods of time and barely even knew I was in -5 degree water. Some have also complained about the straps being cheap and breaking. I have never had any issues before. They actually keep the strap tight. They don't loosen like most boot straps. They go up to just under my knees and I am a tall 6'2". They are comfortable and I'll definitely buy these again.

Not what I expected at all. Opening into the feet is so tight that my husband could barely get his foot in and it took two people to take boot off
Very little room around the calf too

Cold, rainy, muddy, nasty and wet ground but these boots are a champ. The tread is great for those conditions--mud doesn't stick or clump to the bottom of the boot. Traction is good climbing up muddy hills. I'm a tree groundsman and these are working great for me.

I?ve been loyal to Lacrosse for 15 plus years even though more and more competitors are gaining traction every year. Bought these boots a month ago and I?m on my 3rd pair. Buckle keeps breaking in the back no matter how careful you are and my feet sweat more in these than another other pair of Lacrosse I?ve ever owned. I called Lacrosse to see if they?d take care of a loyal customer and I got nowhere, of course LLbean will take care of me because of their superior customer service but I won?t be buying another pair or Lacrosse, off to another competitor.

Very comfortable the first time I tried them on. Fit perfectly. I put a lot of miles on rubber boots and so far really like the tread and the boot height. I wore Muck boots for years and my feet always felt cold even in moderate temperatures. I was in a treestand, at 33 degrees and my feet felt fine with fairly light socks, I'm sold. Thanks LaCrosse and LL Bean.

Alpha burly boots are one of the best rubber boots I have found in the last 10 years! As a sportsman out in the woods almost every day these boots typically wear out at the flex point within 4-6 months. Other boots I've tried don't even last that long. I think lacrosse needs to revamp this boot and reinforce certain areas with better materials. In the meantime LL.Bean has been great with replacing these boots without any hassle.

Because of an ankle /back problem I have to wear an ankle brace and have been trying to find a pair of lace rubber boots with no luck. Finally caved in and ordered these boots because they had the expansion area in the top rear of the boot. Discovered they would go on great but the brace made it almost impossible to get that boot off. Then my wife came to the rescue and suggested I try putting a plastic bag over that foot and see if that made a difference. That made a huge difference and the boot came off fairly easily and I now have a workable pair of boots.
