4th pair over the last 30 years, 1st with the new sole, they are a little heavier and the sole is stiff I didn't think I would like them at first but they are comfortable. The only thing I can think of that might be a problem is while hunting I won't be able to feel the ground as well. These keep my feet warm and dry as well as my last pair only time will tell about hunting with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DriftlessWI Great boot
I purchased the AlphaBurly boots primarily for deer and turkey hunting. I can say already I'm quite pleased after wearing them a few times this bow season. I generally have cold feet and these boots work well with the amount of insulation. My feet will still get cold on all afternoon or all day sits if the temperatures have really dropped but it's still tolerable. One thing I did notice that if you wear them for an extended time, there will be some condensation build-up from the neoprene lining so don't be surprised by it. Great support and in my experience so far the quality is excellent! And from checking out some less expensive boots, these are nice and quiet without the flopping noise you can get from some rubber boot tops.

I ordered a pair of the LaCrosse AlphaBurly Pro Boots, and really liked the fit. They are very comfortable to walk in. I plan to use them for hunting next fall. I decided to order a pair for my son. Same size (11). When they came, I tried them on and found they felt smaller than the first pair, and also rubbed on my heel. My conclusion is that these are comfortable boots but the size does not seem to be consistent. Maybe it was just a fluke. I definitely like ordering from L.L.Bean. They stand behind their products.

I have owned 2 pair of these boots. The first pair I had for three yrs. wore the heck out of them. Wore the inside heel spot out. Got a replacement pair, no questions asked. The current pair is two years old and holding up nicely. I bow hunt 40 to 50 times a year and wear these over half the hunts I go on plus all the scouting I do. Bought a size up, size 11s to wear heaver socks and to allow for heat packs. They are a good rugged boot. Well worth the money. I've learned over the years not to cheap out for foot wear. The comfort and wear factor just isn't worth it. A good rugged boot.

LaCrosse really did well in the design of these boots. I wear a measured size 11D and size 11 fit me perfectly. With a heavy sock they fit just right with no heel slippage, and with a midweight sock I just got a bit. I've worn them down to the low 20's while bowhunting and my feet stayed warm for over 4 hours. Any lower, though, and I would have probably needed toe warmers. They are very easy to walk in, too, with a great fit around the ankles, but they are also easy to get off. I really like how the shaft of the boot is neoprene overlayed with rubber. And, of course, they are completely waterproof. They do have a very strong rubber smell when you first open the package and for awhile afterward, but that wears off quickly once you are in the woods, in streams, etc. All in all, an excellent hunting boot.
