I have to post a new review because the LL Bean system does not allow me to update a previous review that I posted for these flats. I have LL Bean flats from a few different "generations". The older flats (suede with bow and herringbone) are my absolute favorites and so, when I saw LL Bean had updated their flats, I ordered two of the new pairs around Christmas time. I got the poppy and chocolate embossed flats. At first I gave a pretty positive review, but after wearing them for a few months, I cannot say that I would recommend them to others. They have none of the arch support or comfort that the previous flats had! Even so, I could probably be okay with them if not for the elastic in the heel. Months later, I still get rubbing/blisters EVERY TIME I wear them. It's true that I have probably worn each pair fewer than 20 times because of the discomfort, but still, I feel as if they should have broken in by now. I wish I had not purchased these and I don't see myself getting LL Bean flats again. What a pity because I loved the old models!

Unfortunately, these were very uncomfortable in the toe area -- too narrow for me. A shame, because they're a cute style and have arch support. Wore them around the house for a while, hoping they'd soften up, but it didn't happen -- so back they go.

I have wide feet, but I bought these because the last set of flats I bought from LLbean were not wide and they fit great. I still own the other pair and wear them all the time. I don't think it was even the width that bothered my feet, but the back of the shoe. These shoes gave me blisters quicker than ever, maybe after 10 minutes of wearing them. I tried to wear them again with bandaides on my heals, hoping they would break in, no such luck. My heals were so raw and blistered after a few uses. The shoes are cute, but they just wont work for me. Something needs to be done about the heal part of the shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JoJobee Good but pinch heels
LL Bean skimmers are the only flats that are remotely comfortable, providing cushion and slight arch support. In the past I stocked up on LL Bean's ballet flats (with the little bow) and skimmers because they were so comfortable and went with everything. Because they have a rubber sole I found I could wear them all over NYC without having to worry about wearing down leather bottoms (I'm not sure why all shoes aren't like this!). I wore those shoes into the ground.
This year's skimmer boasts similar qualities like an ultra-comfy footbed, however, the heel is gathered a bit, which cuts into my foot. I haven't even done any serious walking and yet I have painful blisters. Looking at other skimmers I've gotten from LL Bean they either had no gathering or were gathered on the sides and front but not on the back. That being said, they are cute shoes and I wouldn't buy anything else because I can't find anything remotely this comfortable, however I'm disappointed they aren't as perfect as previous versions.

I have them in every color. They are so comfortable without sacrificing fashionable taste. They work with jeans as well as with something more fancy. They spoil you to your other shoes.

They are very comfortable without sacrificing fashion sense. I have it in every color and wear them all the time. I gave up wear high-heels for most occasions.

I love these. Comfortable from day one for all-day wearing, and cute as well. I wear them with the denim dress i bought from LL BeanSignatures last year, with a string of red beads at the neck. Stylish comfort. I will buy others in different colors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LailafromWpg Perfect fit
In reading the reviews, I was worried that a 10 would be a little too small, since the recommendations were often to order the item 1/2 size up. No need to worry. I am a true size 10 and these fit perfectly. My heel is a little narrow, with the front of my foot being a medium width, so sometimes width can be an issue. Not in this case -- the elastic at the heel gripped my foot perfectly -- I think there would be some room for a wider heel, though. Walking in them for five minutes, they were already softening up considerably.

I was not impressed with the quality of these skimmers. While they look cute, the embossing is poorly done so the leather flakes on the parts of the shoe with creases by the side and heel. In addition, the leather has lost its color in several areas after very little wearing of the shoes. I was glad to find some skimmer options but this was not worth the money even on sale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by CynM Wonderful craftsmanship
I saw these shoes and fell in love with them. I received them in the mail and they were beautiful. I bought the chocolate brown color. The craftsmanship on these shoes was wonderful. They fit true to size lengthwise, but sadly they were just a bit too tight over my big toe knuckle. I'm sure over time they would stretch, as leather tends to do, but I didn't want to take a chance that they wouldn't so I sadly returned them.
