I've been looking for a lined trench that I can wear in the messy spring rain and late winter. I debated a long time before ordering this one in black petite. I'm so glad I did. I wore it for the first time the other day and was quite warm in 30 degree rain! Perfect-just what I was looking for. This is a keeper and will never go out of style.

I had been looking for an attractive, fully lined (including the arms) trench coat that is roomy enough and it turns out this is not an easy task. This coat is the best I've found which was a nice surprise. I had to go with Large to fit through the chest which makes the rest a bit big. Since I haven't found anything else that even comes close to this, I plan to take it to the tailor for some minor adjustments. I bought the stone color which is very nice and customer service promised to take it back if I can't keep it clean. I also bought this in black for my mother who has worn it several times already and she loves it. And the price is great!

I have this wonderful coat about a week or so now and I love it. Have worn it out on a blustery night and it's great. Well made and stylish! I think I will have this coat for years to come. Sizing is spot on.

I love this hight quality trench coat. The liner can be removed, but with it, it is so warm and I am pretty sure I can wear it until I switch to a down jacket. So, I think this is not really a fall jacket, but rather an early winter jacket. I ordered a black coat, and it looks really sophisticated.
I usually wear 2-4, and I ordered the size S. Although the top has some room, the shoulder fits perfect, so I think S is the right size for me.
I cannot wait to wear it!

The fabric and construction quality of this classic trench coat is excellent.
I wear a size small and ordered the medium so it will fit comfortably over a winter work suit - or a sweater and jeans. So while it appears a little big - it will easily go over the clothing of the season for both business and casual.
Very happy with this purchase!

After reading the reviews, I decided to order my normal size (Med) and NOT size up. LL Bean's guarantee would take care of me if the size was wrong. I found the coat true to size with the lining in, and roomy without the lining. I even tried it on over a heavy sweater, with and without the lining; I didn't find it to be snug at all. The sleeves are long (a good thing for me, maybe not for a smaller person). Oh, big bonus- the lining has full sleeves, not just a body liner! I'm very happy with my purchase.

I love the style of this coat - classic and professional. However, I cannot find the right size. The XL is too small in the arms, as is the 1X, but the 2X is a tent.
I would love to keep this coat, but I can't find a size that fits my arms and my body.

I am very happy with this coat so far. It isn't that cold here yet so I zipped out the wool liner for light coverage. The description about sizing is accurate - it is designed to fit over bulkier clothes, so no need to purchase a larger size. I love the water resistance - I actually dripped coffee on the way to work, and it just wiped right off with a paper towel. It's a very flattering and versatile. You could wear it over a sweater and jeans or leggings on the weekend but turn around and wear to work with slacks and a blouse.

I can certainly understand why LLBean has been in business for 100 years! All of their products are top quality. However, they out did themselves with this trench coat. It's smart, sophisticated, practical and affordable. It's perfect to wear to a business meeting. It's equally stylish to pair with casual clothing. I feel like a 'million bucks' when I wear it.

As all LL Bean products, this trench coat is top quality, just be aware that normal sizing is NOT large enough to wear over bulky items. Because of the write-up I ordered my usual size. When I received the coat it was snug around the arms. I sent it back for a full refund to purchase something else locally for my upcoming trip to Ireland. If you wish to buy this coat remember to size up!
