Rated 5 out of 5 by Kohnhead Love this skirt!
Bought this skirt and am so happy with it! I am 5' 9" and find that any skirts that are described as "calf length" never are on me. I was pleasantly surprised with this skirt and would love to once again see it in the LLBean "line-up" but offered in more colors from which to choose! Thanks, LLBean, for another quality product!

Rated 4 out of 5 by HJLsMommy Beautiful Skirt, but...Caution: "Incorrect" sizing
This skirt is well made, comfortable weight and good quality. However, I sent it back right away because the waist was HUGE! the sizing chart says it fits a natural waist of 31 inches ( for a size 12), but the waist of this skirt was 34 INCHES!!! So, I sent it back for a 10, the size I normally wear. It fits much better but is still big, I am reluctant to send it back for an 8 for fear it will be too tight. I think I will keep the 10 and see how it wears after a couple more washings. I have an affordable seamstress and will most likely have her take it in to insure for a good fit.
Truly, this is a very nice skirt. Just do not order according to the sizing chart. Order your true size or down a size if you are on the smaller end of the numbers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hikergrandmato8 best winter skirt around
I love this skirt! I've had one color for a year. I originally wore it for dressier occasions (church, etc.) but now that it's very cold, I'm wearing it every day. It pairs beautifully with sweaters and tights. While it may not be figure flattering and the sizing is tricky (I have 12 in other Bean skirts, in this I need an 8 or smaller and petite.) That's why I was so disappointed when I sat down to order another color and most of the petite and smaller sizes are gone. In case you haven't noticed, skirts of any kind are becoming harder to find. That's why I'm thrilled Bean brought back the longer Bayside skirt. I ordered it in 2 colors.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Nausiica Comfy for winter wear
Not the nicest cut but it is easy to pair with a top and winter boots and is quite warm and comfortable (for Vancouver's winters). I also appreciate the fact that it is machine washable, while looking "dressed up". I just wish you offered more tailored look, this skirt does not feel very sexy. It's okay for work and daily errands, though.
I have worn it at least 20 times already and it holds very well to washing and drying and does not wrinkle much during the day, so it can actually be worn more than one day, nice for the busy mother that I am.

Rated 5 out of 5 by a2a2 wonderful skirt & great value
I usually wear a 1X or 2X, but with this skirt, size 20 did the trick. I have worn it a good number of times, but haven't washed and dried it yet. Looks like a quality soft wool, is a good length for boots, and is comfortable. Will order another color.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ScotlandMS Poor tailoring
Disappointed in the poor tailoring of this skirt. Did not have the heart to tell my husband differently. The skirt did not hang right. The lining hung below the hem. And after sitting for a short time, you could see here my knees were from the bulges in the skirt.
Pls consider different tailoring.

Rated 1 out of 5 by 2LABSMom Very disappointed in the fit and workmanship
The skirt I received is not a traditonal A-line like the picture shows. The waist is very big (32 inches for a size 8!) but the hip area is only about 39 inches (close to a normal size 8). There is 4 inches too much fabric at the waist and the fit is "boxy" and not flattering. The current zipper is short -- not quite 4 inches long -- which is why the manufacturer had to make such a big waist -- so the skirt can go over normal size 8 hips (38.5 inches). The waist band cannot be altered unless I also have a normal 6 to 8 inch zipper put into the skirt. And the skirt lining is too long in 2 spots and sticks out at the botton of the skirt. All those alterations are too much money and time to put into a $59.00 skirt. LL Bean, please have clothes constructed with regular length zippers and make them true to your size charts. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ownergsd disappointed......
i've often shopped at l. l. bean, sometimes i love the item, sometimes not. this is one time i'm disappointed. i bought three riding skirts, washed two according to the instructions. the shell of both skirts shrunk causing the lining not only to bulk, but also hang lower then the hemline. i'll be returning all three skirts.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MustLoveCows Nice, but....
This skirt fits well and looks great on, particularly with tall boots. I love that it is washable; it still looks good after being washed. It did shrink oddly in the wash, and I was afraid the lining would show as another reviewer had mentioned. However, I find that I can re-stretch the skirt a bit by ironing it, and the lining stays hidden.
Unfortunately, after I washed and wore the skirt twice I noticed that the left front belt loop is slightly farther from center than the right front belt loop, giving the skirt a strange asymmetric look. I have never, ever seen this in another garment with belt loops, so I cannot believe it is intentional. From the photos on the website, though, it appears that all the skirts might be like that. More unfortunately, the skirt is now sold out in my size so I can't try another one to see. I would advise looking at this and trying it on in person before buying.

Rated 5 out of 5 by XS115 Great winter skirt
I bought this skirt last year in navy and I love it. I gave it 5 stars but in the preview it looks like it's showing as 3. Hopefully it will "publish" as 5. I only wish it were less expensive. I'd like to order other colors/fabrics but many are already sold out in my size. It's a great skirt with boots and tights for fall/winter. I am 5'4, 115 lbs and the petite 4 fits me well. It's comfortable, warm without being too hot, and its classic lines are flattering and attractive. I've received compliments on it each time I've worn it and women always want to know where I found it.
