We usually buy Katahdin, Cold Buster and Snowfield lines for our kids, and I am used to adjustable straps. I buy snow pants a little big and keep adjusting straps so that my kids get 2 to 3 years of wear out of them. Then we pass them down. Love LL Bean kids' outerwear.
Unfortunately, these do not have adjustable straps. I bought them a little bit big where she had outgrown the last LL Bean size, but the torso on these was too long for her. If I had been able to adjust it by shortening straps, I think it might have worked. Sadly these went back.
They seemed very high quality, and I liked the finish to the material better than the Katahdin and Snowfield. I really liked the fleece torso, which seemed very comfy. My daughter liked that too. They just didn't work for us. If they fit your child's body type, I think they would be great. So I recommend them, just not for us.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MaineRoma Nice bib, but hard to fit
First off, these appear to be very well made and warm. Looks like they would endure at least one, maybe more, Maine winters. However, we could not make these work for my tall, slim 6 year old. the 6x-7 fit in leg length, but waist was just barely big enough and torso was too short and not adjustable. I did not try next size up, because it seemed certain the legs would be too long. Too bad, because the fleece top is very nice and cozy. We will go back to the traditional bib style and try that.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TCole Horrible knees
I bought these for my daughter and within a month they had a hole in the knee. It says they are reinforced, but apparently not very well. She fell down on her knees one time with them on and that was all it took to rip them. They may be good for kids that just ski in them, but not for kids that want to get outside and play. The knees need to be better reinforced with a stronger material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by kiminvt Nice fit and true to size
These pants are so waterproof they don't even feel wet after being in the snow for hours. My daughter loves them and they keep her warm and toasty. Highly recommended!

Rated 2 out of 5 by GBDT Cuffs wore out
We got these for our preschooler to play outside in the snow, and after a week, the cuffs were shredded. The fleece top was really nice, but these were not designed to stand up to playground use - maybe they're only intended for skiing? We took them back to the store and exchanged them for the Cold Buster bibs, which look practically brand-new after a year of use. Customer service was great, though!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Kalgary Long Body Bib
A couple of years ago we ordered a pair of these and were impressed, but they are not exactly the same this time. These seemed way too big/long in the bib which makes the crotch hang low. My daughter, however wants to keep these as she loves the fleece bib - keeps her warm on the ski hill and playing in the yard. I want to recommend them, but would rather recommend the ones we first bought.

Rated 4 out of 5 by dml29ed Great but...
These would have been my third purchase of Bean Bibs over the last 9 years but unfortunately, they're being exchanged. The sizing is so far off track, so much larger than expected.
Great quality but runs really, really large

I ordered these same pants in a 6X three years ago and they lasted my daughter 2 years. They were fabulous. I ordered the size 8 last fall and they were huge on her. She wore the 6X ones even though they were too short. She is very tall and slim. We tried them on again this fall hoping they would fit. The leg length is fine but the crotch hangs at her mid thigh. I thought maybe it just didn't fit her physique but see that someone else had a similar issue. We are returning them and will try pants elsewhere. Bummer. I loved the other model.

After two winters of almost everyday use, my daughter has stayed warm at temperatures of -30C and dry on the ski hill when temperatures reached above zero celcius. We will be ordering another in size 12 for use, hopefully, for the next two years.
A note on the durability of the item: knees held out, fleece didn't pill, lots of washes and only a little color fading, seams in crotch area needed sewing after the first year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoysMom Best snow pant ever !
I can't say enough good about these snow pants. I just had to buy another pair so my daughter can keep one at school and one at home. I usually leave last years at home to play in the snow but last years snow pants are not warm and don't keep her dry( they were another brand). With these snow pants I have a hard time getting here to come back inside the house :), she loves them. They may be a little roomy but they will more than likely last two winters.
