This dress has a flattering fit with its superb softness and give. Quality in the fabric and construction really shows. The berry color is beautiful. The 3/4 length sleeves are the perfect length and balance out the look. I'm in my sixties and it's often hard to find such a nice, versatile dress to wear just about anywhere. I'm 5'3", 135 lbs & the size 8 petite is a perfect fit. A clear winner for me!

I love this dress! I'm 5'6" 126 lbs and I wasn't sure between a size 4 and 6. I ordered both and ended up keeping the size 6. The 4 fit too but was more snug. If I was in my 20's I would have kept the 4. My middle aged body looks better in the 6. The 6 is still very flattering and not tent-like or too loose at all. The burgundy color is beautiful and the dress is very soft, comfortable, and excellent quality. There is no itch what-so-ever even though it's 100% wool. This dress can be dressed up with sheer hose and heals or dressed down with tights and boots, and is as comfortable as a sweatshirt!

Overall, great dress for the office or casual wear. The wool isn't scratchy. Fit is TTS.

I'm 5'7", about 125lbs, with a slim build and small chest. I'd normally wear a size 6. After reading the other reviews suggesting that I size down, I ordered both the size 4 and the size 6 (regular) in brandywine (burgundy color).
The size 4 fit nicely through the waist (tailored without being tight), but was snug enough to create wrinkles in the elbows of the sleeves and around my chest. It also hit about 2" above my knees, and got way too short when I lifted my arms. (A consideration when you work in an office with tall filing cabinets.)
The size 6 was a little looser through the waist, but certainly doesn't need a belt to look streamlined. The length was also better -- it hit about an inch above my knees -- and the arm-raising did not cause problems.
I'm sticking with the size 6 and sending the 4 back.
The brandywine color is subdued and a nice alternative to black. The dress is well-constructed. The fabric is deceptively soft for 100% wool (no itch at all) and thick (pantylines are not a problem). Hoping it washes well.

I didn't have high expectations for this dress but it's absolutely wonderful! It's very flattering, well-made, and versatile. It runs a little slim (I'm 5'7", 115 lb and got a Small) but I'm also on the busty side. Got it in the burgundy and will definitely get the black, too. I can't believe the fabric is wool--it's virtually itch-proof. Love this dress!

This dress is fantastic!!! i ordered it for christmas in a size 6 regular (i am 5'4" and 122lbs) and returned it for a 4. even though other reviews suggested sizing down (i normally wear a 6), i was concerned that the tailored fit would cling *too* much. i should have listened! but -- i LOVE the fit -- it is very comfortable and as others have indicated, dresses up or down, for work or play. A great buy and one that i will make lots of use of!!

I bought this dress and was extremely pleased, I am 5'7" and 198# and it falls just above the knees. The design, is fitted slightly and gives a slimming look. I find it versatile in that I add scarf and have many compliments. The color and weight of fabric are perfect.

I bought this for my wife and I'm glad that I had read all of the other reviews. She is normally a size 6 or an 8 at 5'5" and 126 lbs. I went with the 4 Petite and it fits her perfectly. A very slimming look and the dress hits right at the top of her knee caps.

and super design. Before ordering this dress I read the reviews and checked the measurements of the size chart. Thank you for the advise of sizing down. I like my dresses to be one to two inches over or below the knee. I knew that if I ordered the regular size it would hit me at the knee so I ordered petite. I'm normally a true size 6 and as I was ordering a petite I ordered that size. It fits perfect. Facts: 5'9", 142 lb, 36B, 28, 38. I bought the burgundy color and I'm seriously considering buying the black one. The sale price is great.

Nice shape and fit with lovely wool knit fabric.
It'll replace another black wool knit dress that has seen better days.
